Obama Re-Election Campaign Officially Begun
Mr. Obama officially filed paperwork yesterday marking the beginning of his 2012 re-election campaign.
Former President Bill Clinton — apparently just hours after that paperwork was filed — decided to take a swipe at “birthers” by calling any claims that Mr. Obama was not born in the US as “ludicrous.”
What’s important about this formal point?
The time has now begun to once again begin formally questioning Mr. Obama about his past, including his birth certificate.
Originally, eligibility questions did not begin seriously popping up until about mid-2008, when there were only months to go before the election and time was therefore short to question the-then candidate’s bona fides.
The situation is completely different this time.
The Donald said, “I’m not finished with [questioning eligibility] by any stretch of the imagination … You mock me for that, but his own grandmother says he was born in Kenya and says she was there.”
Or, as one previous eligibility case put it, while timing was bad in ’08, it is now “ripe” for 2012.
