LeFavour Warns of Idaho Depopulation

Most Senators are extremely busy during the legislative session. Not Nicole LeFavour. The North End’s Senator has worked up a 2000 word screed prophesying doom if the state goes conservatives way. Perhaps, the most absurd statement comes at the end when LeFavour warns:

4. Reduce The State’s Population

A. Nothing says economic disaster like death and out migration.

Get that. Idaho, after record growth in the last decade, the state of Idaho is heading for massive outmigration. The theory seems to be without enough government cheese, the rats will flee the ship.

The theory of population shrinkage as a result of government programs being cut is bogus. Look at the 10 states that lost seats in this last census. Every single one leans Democratic.  Many of them are big union states such as Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Ohio.  And these same states that follow Senator LeFavour’s faith that more and bigger government programs to solve all of our problems are teeting on the edge of banrkuptcy. California, New York, New Jersey have crushing levels of debit. Our problems in Idaho are minor compared to the challenge faced in these behemoths who back Nicole LeFavour’s ideology have gotten.

I won’t bother to respond to Senator LeFavour’s lengthy piece including her arguments that link spending more on education, electing more Democrats stand between our state and a lot of high tech workers. If business want is big government, gay rights, and spending oodles of money on schools, why the heck don’t they go to California which already has those things. Oh, that’s right, California’s on the verge of insolvency.

Then you have LeFavour’s argument that if the state eliminates a $10 million program, of which Idaho is paying $3 million, that Idaho has lost $7 million in Federal Funding, ignoring the fact without the $10 million program, we don’t need the $7 million funding.

LeFavour bashes and attacks anybody who questions statist orthodoxy about the role of governments, anyone who suggests that we need to re-examine how we can make government more efficient, LeFavour is an ideological machine and her positions in Idaho frees from having to deal with reality or coming up with solutions that can actually be passed. She doesn’t have to worry about serious legislating, only heckling.

And that’s why if any legislator will a produce a 2000 word manifesto while sitting in a committee with the most complex issue facing the state, it will be Nicole LeFavour.
