The Calling of Holy Week

Maundy Thursday has concluded. The time of joy and communion has ended and now Christiendom enters into two days of sorrow to identify with the passion and suffering of Christ until the victory of Sunday morning, with His triumph over satan and death to bring life and victory to His followers.

The week from Palm Sunday until Easter is without a doubt the most important week of the Christian calendar. The humble, yet victorious entry into Jerusalem by Jesus Christ all the way towards His seemingly meaningless and humiliating suffering, which then surprises His disciples and the world by rising from the dead speaks to us as conservative activists. The Passion story is one that should give every conservative hope for the future of our movement.

The story of the Passion is one of power, suffering and then rebirth. Through this week, especially Friday, Saturday and Sunday, we can take the opportunity to come to identify with the power that is Christ and apply his strength and suffering to our lives to propel us forward to greater successes.

Holy Week is a time to experience revival. Far too often in our movement, we become discouraged by seemingly unending stories of perversions in society or election losses or any number of abhorrent or discouraging news. But this is where we find our true strength, is in our suffering and our losses, where we come to know the price it costs to again have life. During Holy Week, we should not run from the power of God, but take the time to embrace it and gather strength from the passionate suffering of Jesus. For what seems meaningless is in actuality the great victory.

For just when it seemed Christ’s Twelve Disciples were worthless as followers and that Jesus Himself was a liar or a false prophet, He returns in triumph over His enemies and brings a renewed inspiration for His followers. This is where we find ourselves as conservatives. This is the theme for our cause and it is just. We are the front line fighters for God and His church, for the family and the traditions of our heritage. We are not the destroyers of civilization; we are the creators of it. For our cause is God’s cause. It is a cause of fighting for law and order, of affirming identity and defining that which is correct from that which is false and confronting evil when it arises.

Just as it seemed that Jesus had lost, He has actually won. The story is the same for us as traditionalists. Just as it would appear that our message and beliefs are no longer valid or accepted, we finding that the message that we preach of God, family, tradition and country is again resonating throughout the West. All across Europe, the fires of conservatism are spreading throughout the continent and into the very homes and lives of people once duped by atheistic socialism.  A new order is taking shape, where Europeans are again affirming that it is Christianity that is the foundation of Western Civilization and the Bible as our cornerstone of order. Europeans are beginning to understand that if we remove Jesus and supplant him with Marx or Muhammad all that we are left with is narcissism and barbarism. Likewise in America we are seeing a revival and reaffirmation of the Protestant principles which founded our Republic. That the average American is realizing, through the Tea Party movement that no longer can we allow wolves in sheep’s clothing do away with our nation-hood and run our Christian identity into the ground.  Just when it appeared that America would do away with itself, she is reviving. The City on the Hill that Jonathan Edwards preached about is returning to us.

But Holy Week for us is more than just an allegorical reference to give activists hope. It is a call to live in accordance with what we believe. If we are truly conservatives and traditionalists, we then called to live in accordance with law and order and our lives and philosophies should reflect such noble concepts. This is what distinguishes us from the left. Leftist ideologues are nothing more than advocates of a decadent, lawless, barbaric way of life, that is completely void of characteristics of honor, duty, nobility and yes, (despite being “archaic” by modern standards), chivalry.

The time for great things is before us. The dawn of a new era is approaching in which victory is ours. So let us march forward and experience the power of God on a personal level and work and unite in the mighty warrior power of Jesus Christ so that our heritage, our civilization and our nation-hood shall not perish into the dark burial grounds of history.
