Odd, since this was reported before the debate:

The six candidates will be answering questions tweeted to @140townhall from 3pm to 4.30pm Eastern Time. Questions are already streaming in on a variety of topics, including immigration, the economy, energy and balancing the budget. 

Yet, as we should all know by now: technology may change, but the political establishment always stays the same — and when it comes to immigration, they prefer the traditional low-tech model of sticking ones head in the sand.

Most of the questions were, as one might expect, about the budget which allowed the candidates to Ctrl-V the standard lines about cutting spending and taxes. Absent of course were the messy details of how that could ever be done without a radical reset of how this government works.   

On the plus side, there was a question about Libya, which drew some positive answers and probably the best answer of the whole debate: 

Good for Rick. Not only is that the intelligent and constitutional thing to do, it would also actually do something to reduce the budget.

So far the current line-up of GOP contenders has not been too impressive, or at least what we have heard from them so far. Maybe one will pick up the flag and surprise us however. We’ll see.
