Obamamania Or Picture Worth A Trillion Words

A picture floating round a social network site caught my eye, so I hit the “Share” button. Shortly thereafter, a liberal-leaning friend accused me of “belittling” others and being “negative.” So, I got right to the point and stated why I’d share a picture like this. It has everything to do with the current economic plight burdening the nation which will affect generations of Americans yet unborn. It captures the spirit of the campaign to elect Barack Obama the candidate and contrasts sharply with the economic ruin of the nation under the failed “leadership” of Barack Obama the president.

Obama’s handlers orchestrated a rock star campaign replete with fans fainting in the presence of the “anointed one,” and as a matter of routine, crowds responded to his pronouncements with wild enthusiasm much like the girl in the picture. It was a historical phenomenon rivaled only by Beatle mania.

So, what of it?

Obama the candidate never called for a reasonable response, but in fact, fanned the flames of Obama mania. Obama banked on the irrational outpouring of emotion from his audiences as a means to garner more support – to get more votes. There is a term for that sort of chicanery – DEMAGOGUERY.

Demagoguery is defined as, “the methods or practices of a demagogue.” And a demagogue is defined as, “a person, especially an orator or political leader, who gains power and popularity by arousing the emotions, passions, and prejudices of the people.”

There is no better term to describe the 2008 Obama presidential campaign than demagoguery. The picture records a typical response of people (especially many young voters) to Obama’s demagoguery. It is all emotion; there is no thought involved. Obama was, and still is, aware that real thought would cost him votes.

Now, contrast candidate Obama with President Obama, and what do you get? Obama’s campaign rhetoric is diametrically opposed to his record. Candidate Obama was correct to criticize the massive national debt, and he promised to remedy the problem. Has he delivered? Obama has actually increased the debt now to $16 trillion. Obama promised to wait before signing any bill that crossed his desk, thus allowing the American public time to review bills online for comment before signing any of them into law. The reality, however, is that Obama rammed his healthcare takeover through Congress, and signed it into law the very day after Congress passed it. There was no time for review by the public. Obama promised to close Guantanamo. Can he fix it? The ecstatic girl in the photo would probably chant along with the masses, “Yes we can!” Yet, apparently, NO HE CAN’T. Guantanamo is still in operation even though Obama threw the promise of closing Gitmo like a bone to his rabid supporters on the Left.

Obama promised to lower unemployment, and rammed through a huge stimulus bill promising it would prevent unemployment from rising above 8%. On Obama’s watch, unemployment reached 10%, and has NEVER – during his term – fallen below 8%. Unemployment can NOT be lowered on his watch because his economic policies actually stifle economic growth. He placed a moratorium on drilling in the Gulf of Mexico costing the Gulf Coast states around 80,000 oil industry-related jobs. Obama’s regulatory-driven bureaucracy has prevented domestic drilling operations elsewhere, and he single-handedly killed the XL Pipeline deal that would have created more domestic oil industry jobs. Obama has spent millions of taxpayers’ dollars on alternative energy companies, several of which seem to be increasingly going bankrupt (coincidentally, it seems, AFTER many of those companies have somehow managed to help stuff Obama’s campaign coffers with contributions).

Obama held out the hope that he would be the “post racial president,” and yet he has repeatedly helped stoke the flames of racial unrest if by nothing more than turning a blind eye to blatant racist intimidation (think New Black Panthers waving batons at citizens outside a polling place). And as lynch mobs seek the home address of George Zimmerman to carry out some “frontier justice,” on the “White Hispanic,” the Dear Leader is all too eager to stick his long federal nose into a local criminal investigation– not to call for due process – but, it would seem, to demonstrate he has no intention to call for an end to mob justice.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then this picture of the mindless hero worship of candidate Obama IS WORTH A TRILLION!!! The mindless voting of millions has cost the rest of us trillions in squandered taxpayers’ dollars. The hard work, time, energy, and resources of America’s working people have been flushed down the toilet of empty promises.

Throughout his entire presidency, Obama has demagogued nearly every issue confronting him as he battles with Congress to pass his radical legislative agenda. Even when he held the home court advantage of Democrat Party control over both the U.S. House and Senate for two years, Obama sought to blame the opposition party for setbacks to his radical legislative agenda. Obama had promised bipartisan cooperation, and yet he couldn’t even drum up enough cooperation within his own party to pass Cap and Trade. The man who had never brokered a major deal in his life was elected to the highest office in the land and thrust upon the world stage to deal with the likes of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Kim Jung Il, Hugo Chavez, and Vladimir Putin.

Obama rose on the votes of mindless star struck groupies. Americans chose the leader of the free world based on nothing more than wild, unreasoning, emotional enthusiasm, and in the process have endangered the future of what Ronald Reagan referred to as “the last best hope of man on earth.” No scrutinizing voting records, no vetting with the hard questions that should be put to every candidate, just unchecked fanaticism for a man whose genius lies in how well he reads the teleprompted drivel his handlers feed him. Pull the plug on the patients’ mental life support – shut down the teleprompter – and Obama flat-lines with idiotic statements about campaigning in “all 57 states” and similar nonsense. Without the teleprompter, Sheriff Obama reverts to Barney Fife, randomly shooting from the hip answering the simplest questions in scatter shot sprees that leave his damage control team working the talk show circuit for days plastering over the structural damage to the carefully crafted image of Obama the “leader.”

Under-qualified, un-vetted, un-tested, so unready to take the world stage, and yet, the curtain’s up, the show is on, and this guy doesn’t know when to quit. (I’ll date myself with this next reference, but sometimes I wish this really was the Gong Show, and Soupy Sales could just stroll up to that giant gong, whack it with his giant drum stick, and end the whole sick nightmare vaudeville schtick. Exit Stage Left. Instead, here we are, stuck with this knucklehead-worship of the “American Idol.”)

As for my friend’s claim that the picture I posted is somehow “belittling”: tell that to future generations who will pay down the debt this president is racking up. This debt was made possible by the mindless votes of Obama Maniacs like the googly-eyed girl in the picture. She had no business going anywhere near a voting booth if her control of the facts was equal only to her evident lack of emotional control.

I expect Americans in 2012 to vote smarter than they did last time, but I won’t hold my breath. I have a feeling that the Demagogue-in-Chief has done such a great job (with the help of his cheerleading mainstream media) of snowing Joe Public that we’ll be stuck with His Telepromptedness for another four years.

On his victory-day the Chicago Lottery drew 666, go check it by Googling the exact words “Obama Lottery Illinois 666″ – and spread this like crazy and be saved in heaven, y’all.

Apparently the brain-dead fools of this nation do not even think it is important for the president to know that there are 50 states over which he has LIMITED jurisdiction.

And I remember when this same group of rejects from the planet STUPID made a big deal over Dan Quayle’s spelling of the word “potato”.

That quote was taken from him during the primary season where there were 57 primaries he participated in. Just like Romney and Santorum have gone through. Remember Santorum telling Puerto Ricans to speak English? (How tone deaf is that?)

Obama misspoke, but in context it makes sense considering it was taken after a hard fought primary season. Look at the gaffes by just Romney and there’s still more primaries left.

I love the irony of defining demagoguery and then showing a page and half example of it.
