Dear Liberal Usurpers, From My Cold Dead Hands

I could cite all kinds of statistics that show that societies where guns were taken away from law abiding citizens had spikes in violent crime. I could show you that those spikes turned into plateaus and the crime rates stayed ultra-high when those law abiding citizens were left defenseless, despite the fact that it was advertised by idiot lefties who thought that this time, unlike everywhere else it has been tried, it would be different and crime would go down. But you’ve read them all.

What I will cite is the obvious reason the left wants guns off the streets. In any society where the masses are defenseless, the government has full control. If you go back and look at history, the most glaringly obvious example of an oppressed people would be India, and The East India Tea Company-an arm of the British Crown. They suppressed and repressed a nation of people who far outnumbered them-exponentially in fact, by simply keeping the peaceful natives at bay, at the end of muskets. Simply put, the Indians were slaves to the Brits, though they outnumbered them. Why? Because they didn’t have heaters!

One doesn’t have to look further back than modern European history to see that in each society where the common man weren’t armed, the government controlled every aspect of life. Stalin did a great job of this. In fact he killed tens of millions. The Brits, French, Dutch, etc., all did this under their monarchies for centuries. They had control. They “allowed” the people to farm on their land, but regularly took all the crops, leaving the serfs with nothing much to live on. And then they had holidays like “Boxing Day” (England) where they rounded up some scraps from their Christmas feasts, and gave the serfs the food in “boxes.” That said, that was for many, the only day of the year they ate real meat, real vegetables, and that was it-nothing else!

We can talk about Pol Pot, Castro, and every other dictator who has ever tarnished the earth and the trick they all used was disarming their citizenry. Now, let’s dig a bit deeper and see what this whole “gun control” thing means to modern day “progressives” in America, in 2012 and beyond. One has to wonder first, just how much control is necessary for our governments to have all the way down to the local level. Our Police Departments, even here in Rural Illinois are completely militarized. They are all getting Drones. They all have an armored car or two. They have the very automatic weapons that the scumbag used in Aurora to shoot seventy people. And that is in Rural Illinois. In Chicago, they have armored choppers, personnel carriers, machine guns, hand grenades, snipers, and more-and there are about 30,000 or so active duty cops in Chicago alone.

The States all have The National Guard, Army and Air Force. They have F-16s and more to bomb the hell out of the 7-11 if Michael Bloomberg catches them selling 20 oz Slurpees. The Federal Government has Aircraft Carriers, Nuke-Powered Submarines, Spec-Ops, etc. We are outnumbered on all sides. But wait-are we? In Wisconsin last fall, 600,000 deer hunting licenses were issued-yes, 600,000. That is just Wisco! We have a standing militia right here in our country, manned by experienced hunters, ex-military men and women, current and retired cops, etc. We also have 200 or so million guns held by that standing militia. Add to that the ardent belief that most of us share, that the Constitution is not written in pencil, to be edited at the whim of tyrants. Then add to that the notion of Messrs Obama Reid, Pelosi, and Napolitano that our rights are negotiable, and at their discretion can be revoked. After all of that though, imagine if you will 1920’s Germany. Hitler was spending the country into oblivion. He was going badly on Germany’s debt to the rest of the world. He was printing money at a pace lower that Mr. Obama and Mr. Geithner are doing at present. He had taken over healthcare, and made it controlled completely by his central government. He was scapegoating Jews, much the way Mr. Obama is scapegoating the wealthy.

Now, ask yourself if you think the reason the Leftists in America want your guns is for yours and my safety. Ask yourself if you want statism, which is always the first move tyrants make before moving to a socialist, and eventually full-on communist, or fascist government. If you have read about any of the current dictators in power around the globe, the dictators who once ruled Europe and Soviet Russia, then you will agree that this level of statist activity always leads to totalitarian rule, be it socialist or fascist. I wonder if the Leftists in America really think we are dumb enough to buy their claim of caring, or if they just want to be able to disarm us into total submission, so they can make an attempt at being the very first successful communist nation in the history of the world!? My bet is the latter, which is why they can have my guns when they pry them from my cold dead hands (hat tip to Chuck Heston for giving me that bitchin’ line to end this piece with!)
