Columbus, OH…May 9, 2012 – Media Trackers, the conservative non-profit, non-partisan investigative
watchdog group that made national headlines last year exposing union tactics and media bias during
the Wisconsin budget fight, has announced its expansion into Ohio.  The group, dedicated to promoting
accountability in the media and government, will maintain offices in Columbus and deploy staff
throughout the state.

Media Trackers Ohio (MTO) hasn’t wasted any time getting started promoting increased transparency
and accountability.  They have released the most comprehensive report yet on the so-called
community-based, non-partisan citizens group “We Are Ohio,” revealing the organization as nothing
more than a front for labor unions and the Ohio Democrat Party.  

MTO’s in-depth analysis has revealed that despite its non-partisan grassroots claims, “We Are Ohio”
accepted more than 95% of its funding from unions, with $20,000,000 coming from out of state union
groups.  The group also accepted nearly $1,000,000 from the Ohio State Democrat Party.
Total donations from big labor exceeded Ohio individuals’ contributions by an astonishing ratio of 91:1.
The group used the more than $42 million it received from unions to help defeat Senate Bill 5.
“Presented with the facts, it becomes clear We Are Ohio is not citizen-driven, not community-based,
and not bipartisan, but in fact a union Super PAC,” states Jason Hart of Media Trackers Ohio.   “The
general public should be aware of this fraudulent positioning.  We will be following this and other stories
exposing corruption, bias and incompetence on both sides of the political spectrum in an effort to
improve accountability here in Ohio.”

MTO is also working to ensure the public is aware of recent revelations that controversial wind farm
developments in Ohio funded with taxpayer dollars may actually be contributing to higher ground
temperatures.
