Romney Will Win in Spite Of Media Bias

Let me start this article off with my prediction of the outcome of the Presidential election.  I have been convinced for some time that the election was Mitt Romney’s to lose and have seen nothing in the latest data that would change my opinion.  After careful evaluation of available data I believe Mitt Romney will receive about 287 electoral votes.  He could reach as high as 303 but I think that might be a stretch.

This is not wishful thinking but a compilation of readily available data and historical trends.  However, the main factor which I believe will drive his victory rests solely with voter turnout from the Republican base.  As most Americans are already aware the polls conducted by what used to be the mainstream media in this country are skewed to the point of being useless to determine the current positioning of the candidates in the various states.  The mainstream media has reduced itself to nothing more that the propaganda arm of the Obama campaign, reciting Democratic talking points as if they were accurate or newsworthy.

The media in America has made itself irrelevant by its failure to hold the current administration accountable for its reprehensible conduct or to do its own investigative reporting that it had done so well for many decades.  When all is said and done on November 6, 2012 the American media will have lost what little credibility it has left.  We are in the age of information where almost any information is available to the electorate with the click of a mouse and still various media outlets want to censor news and twist events to fit their political beliefs, regardless of the facts and totally lacking in unbiased reporting. But in spite of all their wrangling and truth twisting the average American voter is not the idiot the media believes them to be. The American voter does not need the media to tell them whom to vote for and what issues they should vote against. We have survived as a nation for more than two centuries in spite of the media not because of it.

The mainstream media is headed down the road to extinction for no other reason than they adhere to one philosophy which is “never let the facts get in the way of a good story.” They have become what they used to decry the most, just another tabloid, only they have video instead of alien babies. Personally, I no longer watch the various news outlets for news, I watch them for entertainment as they remind me of the skits on Saturday Night Live, especially the Obama crew at MSNBC the night of the first debate. Totally priceless. As the media has aligned itself more with the Democratic Party it has lost touch with its mission in our society which is to inform viewers of the facts not the opinion of the reporter or editor. That’s what Op Ed’s and Editorial pages are for.

Most Americans don’t care which Hollywood celebrity is getting married or divorced or what they have to say about a particular issue as they live in a world which is not rooted in reality. The media is quick to run a sensationalized story on the front page and later the retraction or correction is buried obscurely somewhere inside, regardless of the damage it has caused.  But somewhere, lost in the self aggrandizing, the media has forgotten that they do not survive without an audience.

Maybe its time we employed the same tactic on them that the Democrats employed on Rush Limbaugh.  Should we contact the companies advertising on MSNBC and let them know we will not buy their products or visit their establishments as long as they advertise on MSNBC? Actually, I think that would be beneath Conservatives, we have always taken the high road, sometimes at our own peril.  Unlike the Democrat Party and their propaganda networks, Conservatives are willing to argue the issues in a civil manner without resorting to name calling when losing.  We are well aware that Americans know the difference between lies and broken promises and facts, something that will become evident to the Democrats in one short week from now.
