Freedom Lost, Without Firing A Shot

There are none so blind as those who will not see. There are none so deaf as those who will not hear.

A few of us are old enough to remember those safety drills where we crouched under our school desks as “protection” against a nuclear strike by the Soviet Union. A strike that never came. That Soviet Union collapsed and spawned a Russia that remains a danger today.

For me the most poignant memory of that time is of Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev’s words as he pounded a desk, with his shoe, at the United Nations. “We will bury you without firing a shot” he shouted. Who knew that his proclamation would apparently be materializing now while leaders from both sides claim they are friends. Maybe the “flexibility” that President Obama promised, if re-elected, is a consequence born out of the Khrushchev prediction. Was Khrushchev a seer who saw a Marxist elected in America in 2008 and again in 2012?

In Khrushchev’s Soviet Union all decisions came from the Dictator and his inner circle. Citizens who dared balk at the leadership were hastened to Siberia. In Obama’s America we don’t have a Siberia, yet, but any citizen, or group of citizens who dare even criticize the President are mocked and ridiculed. When in history has a President made a concerted effort to divide the citizenry by race, religion, gender, sexual preference, and financial status to the extent that President Obama has?

How could a Marxist take control of America? Well the first step is to control the media. Historically the Fourth Estate was always the lock and key that prevented the government or individuals in the government from over reaching power grabs. Unfortunately those days have long past. Over the past 30 years, Journalism Schools have become a petri dish for liberal thought and philosophy. The Fourth Estate that was once the reporter of fact has become a political arm of the Democrat party and especially beholding to one individual, President Barack Obama.

If this were not so imagine for a moment that Bengazhi and Fast and Furious were investigated with the same zeal as Watergate. In Bengazhi and Fast and Furious we have learned that the Fourth Estate will not investigate and report facts that would hurt Obama. Compare the reporting of warrantless wire taps under President Bush to that under Obama. Same story different reporting. Count the number of programs that were claimed to be despicable under Bush that are now required for the good of the country. It is not a small number.

The Fourth Estate no longer reports the news, they promulgate the propaganda. Most troubling though are members of the Estate who, although they might not agree with Obama on policy, remain silent so as not to hurt their stature with other members and the Obama administration.

What happens when you have a Feckless Fourth Estate? Let us count a few of the ways.

1. You have the least vetted President in history.

It reminds me of this conversation between Tom Brokaw and Charlie Rose shortly after Obama was elected in 2008. This between two individuals whose desire to see him elected could not be questioned.

ROSE: “I don’t know what Barack Obama’s worldview is.”

BROKAW: “No, I don’t, either.”

ROSE: “I don’t know how he really sees where China is.”

BROKAW: “We don’t know a lot about Barack Obama and the universe of his thinking about foreign policy.”

The conversation went into other areas but a sampling of just these two tells us everything we need to know about how poorly the President was vetted.

2. Bengazhi where the media still has not found or interviewed any of the witnesses still alive.

3. Fast and Furious; Is there not a story about why Executive Privilege was invoked?

4. A President that has not met the legal requirement for submitting a budget on time in 4 years.

5. The billions of dollars lost on Solyndra etal: and how many contributors to Obama received Federal Funds.

6. The reason we need czars, who work directly under Obama, that make decisions that bypass Congress.

7. The truth about the Affordable Care Act “ObamaCare” Not the White House talking points version.

8. The truth about Jobs & Unemployment and the lack of success of the Obama Administration to rectify the problem.

9. Why does Valerie Jarrett have Secret Service protection?

Do they no longer give Pulitzer Prizes?

I am to old to crawl under the desk. My eyesight and hearing are not what they used to be, but they are still good enough to understand that we are facing dangerous times ahead. One only has to look at the encroachment of government seeping into our daily lives at a speed that would not have been fathomable prior to this administration. Be it gun control, socialized medicine, stifling regulations on business, partnership with the Muslim Brotherhood or Executive Privilege to coverup government scandal, it appears that Nikita was right. Without a shot being fired, Free America is being KILLED. Wake Up America before it is to late.
