Too Many Questions Surround Dorner Story
Christopher Dorner, an ex-soldier and LA Police officer was accused of murder and mayhem. A huge man hunt was undertaken in large part because of his alleged threats against other police officers. Eventually police reported that he was holed up in a rural cabin, surrounded with no way to escape.
But then a radio transmission was heard by police ordering the cabin burned to the ground. Minutes later the cabin was engulfed in flames. It now appears that the fire was set intentionally by the police.
The reports that followed said that the rubble was too hot to approach, and then that the charred remains of a human were recovered and would be tested to see if it was Dorner. Then we hear that his drivers license was found inside.
Now forgive me for asking this silly question, but if the cabin was burned to the ground, the rubble too hot to approach, and the charred remains of a human eventually recovered, how did a drivers license survive in adequate condition to be identified as Dorner’s?
And why burn the cabin to the ground? I’ve been practicing law for 33 years, people set fires to things in order to hide evidence.
Dorner is said to have published a long “manifesto” which police say gave them reason to hunt him down. They say he killed the daughter of a fellow officer and maybe others. These are accusations, fed to the press and repeated over and over.
Maybe Dorner was a whack job, who went nuts over being fired, who went on a murderous rampage and deserved to die during a gunfight with officers there to arrest him.
But there are too many questions surrounding the story to accept everything being said without demanding some answers.
