Today’s Poem 04/21/2013

When Seasons Pass

In early spring we watch the flower
when winter snows lose all their power
and grass from brown turns brightly green
where even bees become serene

the birds return to sing their song
caressing trees with limbs so long
that reach toward the sun for life
but not immune to nature’s rife

Yes, spring renews the life of love
where all reach up to God above
where ripples in a brook rejoice
in winds to hear the Master’s voice

And there to stroll in meadows fair
to see the earth it’s golden hair
to touch the smile upon her face
and live within her tender grace

Yes, just to know that spring is here
and I can kiss her ever dear
and hold her through the summer long
and listen to her autumn song
