The Gun Control Debate: A Lesson in Misdirection & Lies

The gun control debate has been an ongoing & repetitiously failing argument that attempts to play at the heartstrings of humanity in the guise of saving lives because every life is precious.  I’m here to knock all of that off of it’s pedestal.  Get your liberal friends, put them in a restraining chair per the Ludovico technique as seen in A Clockwork Orange, & set them in front of this article.  Otherwise they’ll kick & scream, covering their ears saying “lalalalalalalalala I can’t hear you.”

Michael Moore is a huge idiot that, though he means well, he cares not of facts.  He will argue that he is right, even though there is evidence against him.  He will roll his eyes & act as though the facts you just told him are preposterous & “everybody knows” you’re wrong.  There’s a phrase that makes me want to punch faces.  He uses it & for some reason, anyone against him & his knowledge that “everybody knows” is pre-qualified as audacious.  You could tell him that the numbers are coming straight from qualified studies from the FBI.  He’ll roll his eyes & shake his head.  The surrounding liberals gawk at him, waiting to see what their opinions should be.

I get that the shooting of innocent people is a bad thing.  Nobody is saying that’s not horrible.  But, with the way liberals attempt to solve this… I can’t even say they’re trying to treat the symptom.  They’re solution is more akin to “murder all of humanity, then they’ll never get sick.”  Yes, that’s true, but it’s about the worst solution I can think of.  NOTE:  I said akin to.  I didn’t say it was the same thing.

Lets go after the whole debate, bit by bit.  Shall we?  I think we shall.  (Hopefully I don’t miss anything).

Registry.  This argument is from a belief that if the Government can track something, then people will be safer.  I’d argue that, logically, it wouldn’t even make sense to even feel safer just because the Government is tracking guns.  I’ve heard people say (Michael Moore even) “the Government makes you register your car.  They make you register your dog.  But I don’t hear anyone saying ‘the Government is coming to take my dog.’”  He injects that last bit to make something seem ridiculous, though he’s misappropriating the purpose of that last sentence.

Because guns are really only a single purpose item:  shooting things, they come with a stigma that you’re going to use it to shoot someone.  That inherently sounds bad, immoral, wrong, illegal, etc.  Which it is, if it’s not in self defense.  Most liberals cool off when you speak about using a gun in self defense.  But they will next argue…

Guns are too easy to obtain.  As if criminals go to gun stores where they usually have to wait a few days before the store can give them the gun.  This is supposedly to stop any “heat of passion” uses of said gun purchase.  To which I say:  I get it.  It is assumptive, but I get it.

Lets knock down both of those previously mentioned arguments with one blow.  Not only do criminals purchase their firearms illegally as it is, they will continue to use them illegally & will not be registering their illegal guns, as that would be like an illegal immigrant going straight to ICE immediately crossing the border & turning themselves in, demanding to be deported.  It makes absolutely no sense & it will do nothing to stop gun crime.  Average joe gun owners are NOT the folks committing gun crimes (as if that’s what they do on weekends is rob liquor stores & such).

Restrictions.  This is the belief that if you restrict the legal amount of ammunition any one gun can contain to a lower number, then it’ll be harder for any one person to murder large groups of people.  Obviously, reasons I’ve already stated apply to this as well.  If you are a criminal, you are not going to obey this law & will likely fill your magazines to capacity (if not carry multiple ones as well).  But lets play along, because there’s more to this…

The 2nd Amendment was made when they only had muskets.  FALSE.  They also had cannons & flintlock pistols.  That’s right, pistols.  Now, obviously nobody has access to a wealth of cannons & cannon accessories, so that’s not likely to become a problem.  The argument is that it’d be easier to stop someone if they had to take a minute to reload their weapon.  Let’s not forget we’re talking about a criminal who’s planning on committing crimes.  There’s crazy, and there’s stupid.  They’re not the same thing.  So, lets make up a character & have him plan a mass shooting.  Johnny CrazyShoes is planning on killing a lot of people, but would need at least 12-15 shots to do so in his little scheme.  All he’s got are flintlock pistols.  He’s planning it in a small area, like a classroom lets say, so accuracy is not a huge issue.  How does he do it?  Liberals have beat him!  They won!  WRONG!!!!  Simple.  He makes himself a holster that will fit 12-15 pre-loaded flintlock pistols.  One he can wear on his person & cover with a trench coat.  He walks into the school, pulls one *BLAM-throws gun to the ground.  Grabs another *BLAM-throws gun to the ground. Etc & so forth.

Liberals don’t understand human ingenuity because they’re stupid.  This is why their arguments don’t have logical & effective solutions.  All they can apparently do is find a new widget that a Government funded committee has to think & talk about, but because it’s nonsensical, it’s a huge waste of time & money.
