Gang Of Eight Kills Amendment Requiring Border Fence

“Although the [Gang of Eight’s] bill before us has been advocated as requiring fencing, because it says the [Homeland Security] Secretary should submit a plan for fencing, there is nothing in the bill that requires any fencing to be completed. In fact, the law that [the Senate] passed in 2007 specifically required a defined kind of fence has never been built.”
