Harry Reid: “The anarchists have taken over!”

He seems upset.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Thursday said “anarchists” have taken over Congress.

Reid (D-Nev.) said Tea Party Republicans are preventing progress on an energy efficiency bill by offering amendments on ObamaCare and other unrelated issues.

“We’re diverted totally from what this bill is about. Why? Because the anarchists have taken over,” Reid said on the Senate floor. “They’ve taken over the House and now they’ve taken over the Senate.

“People who don’t believe in government — and that’s what the Tea Party is all about — are winning, and that’s a shame.”

Who are these anarchists? I am not aware of any in the Congress. He surely can’t be talking about Rand Paul. Rand Paul’s proposed federal budget for 2014 is $3.2 trillion. That’s a lot of money for an anarchist who doesn’t believe in government. It can’t be Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz is a staunch constitutionalist. Without government to enforce it, a constitution is meaningless. They are both supporters of capitalism and private property which require government to exist.

It isn’t just Reid. All Democrats have been complaining about these so-called anarchists lately. They seem to really be worked up over them. Anarchists believe the state to be undesirable, unnecessary, or even harmful. Who are these members of Congress who want to completely eliminate the state, shut down the government, disband the military and end capitalism? How in the hell did they take over Congress?

American anarchists have included Emma Goldman, Abbie Hoffman and members of the Occupy Wall Street Movement. Who are the followers of these people who have taken over Congress? I just don’t see them. Anarchist organizations in the US include the North Eastern Federation of Anarchist Communists (NEFAC). Are there members of this organization in Congress?

I am confused…. Or maybe “anarchist” doesn’t mean what Harry Reid thinks it means.
