Democrats’ Next Obamacare Step: Blame “Evil” Insurance Companies

With the massive failure of the Obamacare website well known, excuses on the part of Democrats have been overwhelming.  Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius even tried to blame the failure of the website on Republicans in the House!

“In an ideal world there would have been a lot more testing, but we did not have the luxury of that. And the law said the go-time was Oct. 1,” she said. “And frankly, a political atmosphere where the majority party, at least in the House, was determined to stop this anyway they possibly could … was not an ideal atmosphere.”

 So it should come to no surprise for anybody that as people are realizing that their insurance policies are being dropped, premiums increasing, and deductables rising that Democrats will not accept blame for these things, either.

The next step is going to be for Democrats to declare war on insurance companies and drug companies.  This strategy will resonate with many low information Liberal voters who, when they hear “business” and “profit” in the same breath come to the conclusion of “evil.”

The pressure for Democrats to shift the blame off of their failed efforts is all the more important because Obamacare passed without a single Republican vote meaning they “own” it 100%.

Railing against “big business” has always appealed to Democrats even though they, as a party, accept plenty of donations from “big business” themselves.

Democrats will say that Obamacare requires a minimum level of coverage and anybody whose insurance has dropped them was paying too much for too little.  They will blame evil “big business” for gouging consumers.  Anybody who has seen their premiums rise is a victim of more greed and avarice.

Liberals from the Left of the Democratic party will then chime in and discuss how, when it comes to peoples’ lives, insurance companies should be trying to “make a buck.”  We will hear how Socialized, Single Payer healthcare puts the emphasis on another Liberal talking point, “care not cash.”

All of these arguments ignore the realities that profit is a big reason why people become doctors or nurses, why drug companies spend hundreds of millions on developing new drugs even though most will never see the market.

But Democratic voters won’t know of any of these points… they will only care about some company somewhere making a profit off of mom’s disease.

The next step is going to be to kill off private insurance companies and then guess what will be left?

That’s right… Government-run healthcare.
