MSNBC’s Martin Bashir Quits After Hinting Someone Should Defecate in Sarah Palin’s Mouth

Martin Bashir is a special kind of moron, which is probably why MSNBC hired him in the first place.  Back when the media was being so fair with Mitt Romney, it was Bashir who said that perhaps because Romney didn’t drink beer that he would put the U.S. in jeopardy.  More recently, he said that someone should defecate in Sarah Palin’s mouth.

Such is what passes for intelligent commentary from the Left.

Edward R. Murrow, Bashir was not.

MSNBC hasn’t been doing too well, in any respect.  And now all four views will be bummed out that Bashir is gone.

Will television executives learn that going Left doesn’t sell?

I always found Bashir to be a pompous ass and now, happily, he’s gone.

Here’s his apology:

After making an on-air apology, I asked for permission to take some additional time out around the Thanksgiving holiday.

Upon further reflection, and after meeting with the President of MSNBC, I have tendered my resignation. It is my sincere hope that all of my colleagues, at this special network, will be allowed to focus on the issues that matter without the distraction of myself or my ill-judged comments.

I deeply regret what was said, will endeavor to work hard at making constructive contributions in the future and will always have a deep appreciation for our viewers – who are the smartest, most compassionate and discerning of all television audiences. I would also wish to express deepest gratitude to my immediate colleagues, and our contributors, all of whom have given so much of themselves to our broadcast.’

Leftists approve of anything Sarah Palin bashing because such “commentary” is to teach her a lesson and others as well.  A typical rationalization:

The purpose of Bashir’s commentary was to illustrate, mainly to Sarah Palin, the sick trivialization of her remarks. Bashir described, at length, the barbaric punishments used on slaves, and in the long tradition of political satire, included a provocation that served to amplify that commentary.

Of course, were such remarks made about Hillary Clinton we’d hear all about the “war on women” but, because it’s Palin who is being singled out, it’s “worth commentary.”

Liberals… they can always be counted on to be disgusting hypocrites.
