Religion Isn’t a “Legitimate” Reason to Say No

There is a constant battle in life between selfishness and selflessness.  I’ve noticed – more and more – that Democrats are the party of selfishness.  Sure, they want everybody to “be equal” but they want to accomplish this by controlling and taking away from everybody else (from thee, not from me).  Everything is about a right (birth control, abortion, healthcare, minimum wage, unemployment insurance forever, higher taxes, etc…).

The list goes on and on.  Democrats want to destroy private charity and, instead, they want it to only originate from the Government (run by Democrats, of course).  Religious institutions generally teach selflessness and are about private charity and, generally, Conservative values such as family, marriage, etc.  Such institutions have historically helped to give society stability.

A married couple with children has a lot more to lose than a single person so they will tend to nurture more than risk and destroy.

As I was reading one of the blogs I like to follow, Ace of Spades, I was intrigued by an article he wrote titled:  Why Does Obama Grant Exemptions for Obamacare Left and Right, And Yet Refuses To Do So for Faith Objectors?

Ace agreed with the conclusion of a National Review Online article which said:

The current Administration is entirely beholden to an ideology of sexual liberationism that considers contraception, sterilization and abortion to be “sacred ground”. They consider this ideology to be so central to life that they will brook no opposition, and will do whatever it takes to bring to heel anyone who opposes them.

I think the author is close to the correct answer but not there, yet.

Liberals consider religion to be a disease and that people who follow one are sick, irrational, and must be rehabilitated until they only believe in the Self.

That is why religious or religiously-based organizations are not seeing themselves exempted from Obamacare’s birth control requirements… Democrats do not view “religion” as being a valid response, even though the founding principles of this nation are religious freedom and Liberals are always preaching “separation of church and state.”

Remember… get God out of Government but not Government out of God.
