CNN Mocks Hillary’s Assertion that Bill and Her Aren’t “Truly Well Off” (Video)

This has to be part of a deliberate effort to make Hillary look more like an everyday, blue collar American than an elitist.

It’s just failing horribly:

CNN anchors mocked Hillary Clinton’s published remarks Monday that she is not “truly well off,” with Early Start‘s Miguel Marquez saying, “Really?” as co-host Alison Kosik openly laughed.

“This follows her comment about them struggling to afford mortgages on their estates,” Marquez said. “Critic say it’s another example of Clinton being out of touch with working Americans.”

She said her and Bill aren’t like other rich types:

“They don’t see me as part of the problem,” Clinton said of Americans who are upset about income inequality, adding, “Because we pay ordinary income tax, unlike a lot of people who are truly well off, not to name names; and we’ve done it through dint of hard work.

This latest attempt to remake herself as a commoner, not a rich, elitist Washington insider, follows her lie about being broke when she left the White House:

Hillary Clinton says she and her husband Bill went from the White House to the poor house.

In an ABC News interview broadcast Monday, Hillary Clinton defended the speaking fees she and Bill reel in, saying, “We came out of the White House not only dead broke but in debt.”

Still, as the Clinton presidency ended, the couple bought a $2.85 million home in Washington and a $1.7 million spread in Chappaqua. And Hillary landed an $8 million advance for her book, “Living History.”

She’s just like you and me.

Just a lot richer and completely out of touch.
