Bachmann at Border: “Currently, not one person who attempts to come into the country is stopped”

Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann took a trip to the border.  What she saw was not border security.  She called it “border processing.”

Not good:

“While the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Agency performs admirably on a daily basis, their purpose has become people processing — not stopping foreign nationals from unauthorized entry into the U.S.

“Currently, not one person who attempts to come into the country is stopped; instead, they are taken to a processing center before a decision is made if they will be allowed to stay,” she added.

Bachmann blamed President Obama for the crisis, naturally, but then said it was because of his lack of political will.

Hardly.

He’s doing exactly what he wants.  It’s not like he’s sitting in the Oval Office, talking with Biden about how much he’s like to secure the border, but just doesn’t want to upset the base.

This is, once again, part of the plan.

The only thing is, I don’t think this is going the way he wanted.

Nearly nine in ten Americans feel that illegal immigration is a serious problem facing the country, and a majority want illegal immigrants to be deported more quickly, according to an Associated Press-GfK poll.

The survey found that 67% of respondents felt that illegal immigration was an “extremely” serious or “very serious” problem. Another 22% felt it was a “somewhat serious” problem, while 10% said it was “not too/at all serious.”

In the poll, 68% disapprove of Obama’s handling of illegal immigration while only 31% approve.

A majority of respondents said that illegal immigrant juveniles fleeing violence should not be given refugee status and feel the law should be changed so those not from Mexico and Canada can be more quickly deported.

The Republicans could be hammering this home.

Instead, they are once again playing defense, spending time in front of the camera telling America they aren’t going to impeach the president.

It’s as if they are puppets, and Obama’s the puppet master.
