No, It Isn’t the Guns

Without fail, after a mass shooting in America, the professional left scrambled to be the first atop the still warm bodies of the slain to shout at you in self-righteous angry voices, “You need to give up your rights!”

This is your fault, all you backwards American gun owners.

After all, if you weren’t so adamant about your right to bear arms, there wouldn’t be an estimated 270 to 310 million guns in America.

Disregard the fact that only one of those was used to take the lives of nine innocent victims in America.

Disregard the fact that somewhere between 43-55 million gun owning households in America.

Disregard one estimate that says “out of 118 million gun owners, 78 or .00007 percent of the gun owning population are potential mass murderers (using a 30-year total).”

Disregard the millions of law abiding gun owners who didn’t kill anyone this week.

When a statist talks about having a “better balance” with your rights, they are saying, “You don’t have natural rights.  The state gives them to you.  We can limit them.”

Another professional leftist is echoing Secretary Clinton’s blame of inanimate objects, “Because it’s the damn guns.”

It isn’t.

It just isn’t.

I worked with one gun on my hip and another slung across my back for nearly 10 years, and neither ever tried to kill me.

Ever.

But the left can’t let a crisis, or a massacre, go to waste. Remember, the issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution.

The left doesn’t care about the dead, but how they can use the dead to further the destruction of the American way of life.

They want to take the guns. It’s that simple.

Well…

Today, Glenn Beck lead prayers and singing in South Carolina, outside the church where the shooting occurred.  I wasn’t there, but I’ve prayed.  I prayed for the victims and this country.

I would prefer that times like this were focused on things like that, focused on helping the victims, looking for what lead a person to do something like this and coming together.

That’s never possible because this isn’t about that to the left.  This is an opportunity to make the case to disarm us.

It’s about the agenda.

Always the agenda.

That’s the sad reality of things.
