Sweet Home Alabama not so sweet any more?

GoFundMe is a “Crowdfunding” (personal fundraising) website where everyday people try to help those in need. A few examples:

We The People – helping veterans
Helping Baby Jacob and his family
Mackenzie Jensen-facial reconstruct
The liberation of Christian and Yazidi children taken hostage and sold as sex slaves in Mosul, Iraq.

It seems the state of Alabama needs a bail out because they are not wise stewards of the peoples money and so have created a GoFundMe account for the Alabama State Government.

The State of Alabama is experiencing tight financial times and needs your help. Legislators are debating possible financial solutions but are finding that Raising Taxes are not wanted by the citizens of Alabama. Rather than have the Government come after your hard earned money you can now send an amount that fits your budget, even request where your money be used.

“Rather than have the Government come after your hard earned money…” – looks, smells, sounds like a threat to me!

In five days they have raised a thousand dollars of the $300,000,000 needed, and the people are not very pleased with this fundraiser:

Julien Cohen – You already have a crowdsourced fund of money. It’s called taxes. Why would you possibly deserve more?

Christopher T Davis – Let’s see, my check is heavily taxed. I bring home less than $26k a year and cannot afford a home payment on my own because not only do I get my ass taxed left and right, but now I have to pay horrible insurance premiums or get fined at the end of the year for not having the crap. Yet you idiots in Montgomery make more than enough to suffice, along with all of the illegal bribes you all take in and get for passing or suggesting bills to meet the wants of big business. And you idiots vote first thing as soon as you’re in session on raises for yourselves. Creating a go fund me campaign is pathetic! Try doing without a check for 2 months and you’ll probably have more than enough to cover the short-fall in Alabama’s already pathetic budget!

Never, in the history of the world, has any one or any entity been able to squeeze blood out of a turnip and I’m not betting on the State of Alabama being the first.
