FNC Hosts Mute As Trump Spouts Conspiracy Theory About Cruz’s Dad And Lee Harvey Oswald

I missed this as it happened because I no longer watch Fox News Channel, but heard about it on the radio shortly after. Donald Trump had his usual phone call to Fox and Friends and started to spout off the conspiracy theory about Ted Cruz’s father being in cahoots with Lee Harvey Oswald who assassinated John F. Kennedy. Trump said it had been “reported” but nobody bothered to mention that it was reported in the National Enquirer. The hosts of Fox News just sat there mute, like three idiots. One mumbled “right” and Brian Kilmeade mentioned “the photo” and then said “crazy” before moving on to the latest poll. Notice he didn’t say “Donald, you’re freaking insane for spewing this nonsense.”
Donald Trump on Tuesday alleged that Ted Cruz’s father was with John F. Kennedy’s assassin shortly before he murdered the president, parroting a National Enquirer story claiming that Rafael Cruz was pictured with Lee Harvey Oswald handing out pro-Fidel Castro pamphlets in New Orleans in 1963.
A Cruz campaign spokesperson told the Miami Herald, which pointed out numerous flaws in the Enquirer story, that it was “another garbage story in a tabloid full of garbage.”
“His father was with Lee Harvey Oswald prior to Oswald’s being — you know, shot. I mean, the whole thing is ridiculous,” Trump said Tuesday during a phone interview with Fox News. “What is this, right prior to his being shot, and nobody even brings it up. They don’t even talk about that. That was reported, and nobody talks about it.”
“I mean, what was he doing — what was he doing with Lee Harvey Oswald shortly before the death? Before the shooting?” Trump continued. “It’s horrible.” (Read More)
I know this won’t matter to Trump’s ardent supporters, but I doubt it helps with those who haven’t been drinking the Trump Kool Aid.
It’s this kind of nuttbaggery that helps turn people into #NeverTrump. It’s this kind of bat guano insane that will further drive people to saying “well, I was going to put a gasmask on and fill in his name as a vote against Hillary, but, I just can’t do it.”
For me all it does is strengthen my resolve to never vote for Trump, or to tune in to Fox News ever again.

Later in the morning Cruz kind of went off on Trump, calling him a pathological liar, which is totally true. I don’t know how he remains so calm. Just the other day his wife Heidi had to respond to a question about him being the Zodiac Killer. That’s how ridiculous this is getting.
But at least the Cruz campaign has a sense of humor about it all, and has put out a bunch of pictures of Rafael Cruz throughout history that the National Enquirer missed.
One other thing I heard earlier, but I’m not able to find a link to at the moment, is Trump’s response to a conversation Cruz tried to have with a Trumpbot. The guy was an idiot and not at all interested in listening to reason. When Trump was asked about it he defended the guy saying he’s just a guy the government didn’t take care of, which is just more of Trump’s liberal stripes showing.
