The Daily Rant Get’s Censured On Facebook

Yesterday, on Wednesday May 3rd, at approximately 1 PM EST, my latest  post regarding the confirmed reports by a contact on the violence and rioting by opposition and pro-government groups in Venezuela was removed – censored – by Facebook.

In addition, the Daily Rant Facebook page has been restricted from appearing in any newsfeed until May 10th (my punishment presumably).

The Daily Rant always makes every effort to be compliant with the terms and conditions of Facebook.  That said, I do not definitively know why they have done this, and while we can make an educated guess, truth be told we may never know.

More importantly, we need to recognize the fact that this entire page can be taken down by Facebook in an instant with no notice, no explanation and no repercussions.

In a heartbeat The Daily Rant community here can be eliminated, a virtual dirty bomb to the almost 50,000 conservatives who gather here. While it may not happen today, or tomorrow, yesterdays censorship is a wake up call.

I need you to stay connected with me outside of Facebook. The best way is to visit my website and sign up for my email alerts. I’m very respectful of your privacy, you can choose to only receive them once a week, but it will give me the opportunity to reconnect with you should this page be permanently removed.

It’s ok to get mad, but let’s take action to stay connected. That’s the best retaliation I can think of.
