9th Circuit Upholds Punishment for Praying in Public
The First Amendment secures our right to the free exercise of religion, as well as freedom of speech. The wording is clear:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Establishment of religion refers to official state churches, like they have in the liberal utopias of Scandinavia (Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland, and until 2000, Sweden).
Because every thought that passes through their heads is inside-out, upside-down, backward, twisted, and wrong, liberal authoritarians interpret the First Amendment as permission to punish people for praying:
A Washington state high school football coach who was punished for taking a knee at the 50-yard line for a post-game prayer violated the U.S. Constitution, according to the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
A three-judge panel ruled the Bremerton School District was justified in suspending Coach Joe Kennedy after he took a knee and prayed silently at midfield after football games.
The preposterous justification for this tyranny is that Kennedy is a public employee and therefore does not enjoy Constitutional rights.
“When Kennedy kneeled and prayed on the fifty-yard line immediately after games while in view of students and parents, he spoke as a public employee, not as a private citizen, and his speech therefore was constitutionally unprotected,” the 9th Circuit wrote.
No wonder liberals are so fond of socialism. When everyone works for the government, no one will have rights.
