Woman Gang Raped in Pakistani Village Over Free-Will Marriage
A woman in the village of Tandlianwala near Faisalabadin Punjab in Pakistan was gang raped for the crime of marrying a man of her choice.
The rape was ordered by district elders.
This is hardly the first time the males of a Muslim community have used their Islam beliefs to justify the rape and abuse of women. Just this past May, a 16-year-old girl died after being raped and tortured in Lahore.
But the idea of a religion sanctioning such atrocity is always eye-opening.
The Tribune has more on this latest victim:
A woman has been gang-raped in the Chak 429 village of Tandlianwala district near Faisalabadin Punjab on the orders of a Panchayat of influential elders for marrying of her choice, Express News reported.
R*, the gang-rape victim, said she and F* married of their own free-will two-and-a-half months ago. However, she added, the village elders and leaders did not approve of the marriage as they had married of our own choice.
The elders then called a panchayat, or village council, which ordered her gang rape. Three members of that council then gang-raped here, she added.
The woman further said that the local police refused to register her complaint, despite her repeated efforts.
Meanwhile, the station house officer at the local police station claimed that R* has yet to approach them with her complaint.

They need to be jailed for 20 years and if not the city needs to be fined 10 million dollars and if not the country should be fined by an international court for 30 million dollars and compensate the woman and 30% of the money given to an international attorney consortium to prosecute other similar infractions and if they kill or otherwise destroy her the country be fined 100 million and have economic sanctions levied against it that if not followed have further sanctions put on it.
Muslims are a disease and should be treated as such.
