P.C. Alternative National Anthem for Sports Events

Black Lives Matter antics at sports events seem intended to generate enough controversy so that the national anthem will be dropped. But not to worry, a replacement is ready:

Several NBA teams have played what is known as the “negro national anthem” at games during Black History Month thanks in part to the urging of a retired Howard University professor.

Howard is a traditionally black university; whites are not advised to apply.

Eugene Williams, a 76-year-old retiree in Clinton, Maryland, has made it his goal to get professional and collegiate teams to play “Lift Every Voice and Sing” during February.

The Washington Wizards played the song accompanied by video of team members “engaging in community activities.” If the moonbattery gets any cornier, they will have to rename the song “Lift Every Toilet Seat and Barf.”

“My mission will be completed if it’s done in stadiums all over the United States of America,” Williams said.

Eventually he will get his way. We are told that The Star-Spangled Banner is racist (see here, here, and here). But no one would say that about a song explicitly for those of politically preferred pigmentation.
