Iran’s Islamic Regime at Breaking Point

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

More than four decades after the tragic Islamic Revolution of 1979, the suffocating rule of Islam casts its death-bearing pall over Iranians. A proud people with an enviable heritage have been systematically purged of their sense of identity and forced to think and behave like barbaric and intolerant Muslims.

While the repressive regime suffocates the entire Iranian strata, the conniving mullahs are working overtime to obtain the ultimate death weapon—the nuclear bomb—the most efficient and economical way of inflicting death on the masses of infidels.

The modern manifestation of the Islamic Caliphate has been reincarnated into the “the Islamic Republic” of Iran, which has been holding the Iranian people hostage for the past 40 years. The Islamists ruling the country hope to realize their expansionist master plan after defeating the people of Iran, and ultimately unleashing their reign of Islamic terror on the rest of the world in succession. Hence the importance of world support for the Iranian people (not because of altruistic and an unselfish regard for others, but as self-interest) cannot be overemphasized.

In 2009 and after enduring more than four decades of the Islamic regime, the great majority of the Iranian people decided to cast their ballots in the hope of affecting change within the system. The Islamic government completely accustomed to doing whatever it wished and ignoring the people, stole the election and declared the incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as the winner. Their blatant violation of this basic right to vote and choose the official infuriated the long-suffering masses who poured into the streets by the millions, demanding their votes be counted and honored. The response of the regime was to beat the demonstrators, arrest many and subject a great number to a raft of harsh treatment in prison.

Iranians deserve better than being manipulated by a bunch of devilish mullahs who have been riding on the back of the ignorant poor, while deceiving the poor and with empty promises of all the goodies that they are promised in the afterlife. Not a bad scheme for the charlatan mullahs. They have it all in this world while issuing IOUs to their victims, by the authority, they claim vested in them by none other than Muhammad.

The Islamic Republic is also supporting almost every rebel or terrorist group in every Islamic country from East Asia, the Middle East to North Africa, including the Taliban, Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthis in Yemen and even Al-Qaida, at various times. None of these rebel groups had or have any respect for the Islamic Republic, but for its petrodollar. With this damaging behavior directed towards Iran’s national interests, the Islamic Republic won the antipathy of the world community. A proud nation which once was the icon of goodness, friendship and humanism, had now become the symbol of evil, terrorism, homicide, deception and corruption.

Like the ISIS terrorists, this regime from the very beginning, began the animosity toward Iranian pre-Islamic culture and history and became the hallmark of the Islamic Republic’s regime. De-Persianization and adulation of the Arabic tribal culture entered elementary school books. In schools, instead of teaching Persian history, culture and geography and history, they taught culture and geography of the Bedouins of another land. In schools, children were brainwashed by a type of ideological indoctrination no longer acceptable by modern society and taught a Persian language obliterated by unfamiliar jargon. Purging of our institutions of higher education of scholars, top professors and researchers caused lowering of educational standards relative to international standards and flight of the best and the brightest of our country.

Right from the start, a concerted effort was made to demolish historical monuments such as Persepolis and tomb of Cyrus the Great, and destroy cultural heritage by pilfering the archeological relics, museums and sites and by denying all beliefs and customs Iranian. The Islamist zealots ruling Iran for the past 40 years have undertaken a systematic campaign of endangering and destroying the cultural sites of pre-Islamic Iran, ignoring the numerous petitions and pleas of the Iranian people.

The Islamic Republic’s discriminatory and monopolistic treatment of religious minorities and people of certain geographic areas, and widespread gender discrimination, separates these segments of population from the mainstream of Iranian society and denies them civil rights and full participation in civic responsibilities. While the Islamic Republic has denied a major portion of the population the benefits of access to the country’s resources and opportunities, it has also denied the country of their capabilities and talents.

Women of Iran, who were well on the way of taking their rightful place in society and a share in civic responsibilities, have been suffering worst kind of denial and humiliation due to enactment of certain tribal laws and the most inhuman social limitations and penal punishments. Iranian women, however, with the will and courage true to their national heritage, are fighting back defending their human rights in form of peaceful protest movements. Ignoring the civil rights of half the population, just for reason of gender and archaic ideas is not deserving of any woman.

I predict that the current conditions governing Iran will not last very long. The general discontent and the extent of civil movements coupled with external influences have created a condition which can only be triggered by an explosion. No one knows or can predict when that trigger moment will occur; or how, when or where; nor what the ensuing fire will burn.

The deep anger and general hopelessness can drag people into any direction and make them do many things. A countrywide rebellion or political chaos can in no way be beneficial to the nation. But, what is probable is that in the case of any rebellion, the violence we experienced during the 1979 revolution was unprecedented and shocking.

In addition to the extensive public discontent of today, the Iranian armed forces are also showing signs of frustration and anger due to the double standards of the corrupt top commanders. Within the Revolutionary Guards (Sepah) where high ranking commanders from their humble beginnings have amassed astronomical wealth and live in palaces, this discontent and frustration is considerable. The discontent of the armed forces was first shown in the 1997 elections. Now, due to the widespread and increasing financial and ethical corruption, the discontent within the rank and file of the Revolutionary Guards has multiplied and they seem to have become less tolerant.

The Basij (a paramilitary volunteer militia) also, are either brainwashed or do anything for money and other incentives. The majority have joined only to enjoy its membership benefits such as the ease of college entrance, food rations and various kinds of discounts and financial assistance. This lot will distance itself at the first blow of the storm and may join the people.

What becomes clearer to the people during these past forty years is that the Islamic Republic has not had any achievements except destruction, backwardness, corruption and violence. This has happened while all other countries in the region which were behind us in every aspect and lived in poverty, violence and backwardness, achieved admirable progress in economic, political and social conditions. While Iran during these forty years despite over $800 billion dollars in oil income, has been held behind miserably compared to the other Middle Eastern nations.

Therefore, the reason for Iran’s defeat and backwardness in all these areas cannot have any reason except the Islamic Republic. On the other hand, due to the depth and spread of economic, political and social ills inflicted by the Islamic Republic, the management of the transitional period for the country from the current to a democratic system is not something every one person or group can handle singly. It requires exceptional capabilities, courage and unity of purpose, and can be achieved only by an elite team.

Iran is now experiencing its biggest internal political crisis since its last mass protests — those in 2009 in response to the re-election of former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, marred by allegations of vote rigging. For months, the Iranian people have taken to the streets to protest against their government, a cruel and oppressive Islamist theocracy that claims a monopoly on morality. These are not just demonstrations about economic struggles and water shortages—results largely of the regime’s corruption and incompetence. The popular protests also show a growing rejection of the Islamic Republic’s brutal rule, and even its existence altogether.

A regime that subjects its own people to unending viciousness is showing the world its willingness to commit any crime to intimidate others and to undertake any action that would keep it in power. The Islamic Republic of Iran represents devastation and death if not immediately disempowered by all people and nations that value the Universal Human Rights for all. It is timely to bring to mind the warning of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is indeed a miscarriage of justice, a cruel repressive rule, and an imminent threat not only to Iranians but to the world at large. Time is ripe for regime change.
