Conor Daly Loses Sponsorship Because His Father Said N-Word

A dope fiend might become so overwhelmed with the compulsion to impair his consciousness that after consuming any illegal substances he can acquire, he turns to huffing paint and snorting detergent, with predictable health consequences. A similar phenomenon occurs when the martinets of political correctness run out of thought criminals to immolate. In desperation, they may go beyond ruining people for having uttered the forbidden n-word to targeting those who happen to be related to past blasphemers against our official religion, Cultural Marxism. This has happened to NASCAR driver Conor Daly:

Conor’s father, Derek Daly, on Thursday admitted he had used a racial slur in a live radio interview in the early 1980s. [Conor] Daly was born in 1991.

Because his father spoke a currently forbidden word a decade before he even existed, Lilly Diabetes is punishing Conor by pulling its sponsorship decals from his car. Never mind that Conor has diabetes.

Given the current political climate, Eli Lilly has no concern that there will be blowback from people who do not want to live under ideological totalitarianism.

Needless to say, the guillotine is also descending on the senior Daly:

Derek Daly used the word more than 30 years ago in a live radio interview at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. WISH-TV reported late Wednesday that it had dismissed Daley as its freelance auto-racing analyst.

There is no statute of limitations on thought crimes, as the war of extermination against statues of great Americans from times past attests.

The rabid excesses of the Salem Witch Trials, the Reign of Terror, Stalinist Russia, and Mao’s Cultural Revolution were not a whit more vindictive than the mass insanity known as political correctness.
