Double Star-dards

If we believe Winston Churchill´s rule “You have enemies? Good. That means you´ve stood up for something”, President Trump must have done something right: the West Hollywood City Council has voted to remove his star from not so glorious “Hollywood Walk of Fame”.

Earning a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is an honor. When one belittles and attacks minorities, immigrants, and people with disabilities or women –the honor no longer exists.”

Well, I bet “it wouldn´t hurt a bit” if Donald Trump was a Democrat putting refugees before our homeless Veterans (in true L.A style); his star would be allowed to shine even brighter if he got keen on  politically correct issues instead of showing interest in draining swamps (which in some states have been overflowing for decades).

Talking about “lost honor”… Well, despite of “Walk of Fame”, history can take Hollywood for a very long perp walk –anytime.

While some phony ethicists are cheering to President´s star marker being vandalized by a pickax and a sledgehammer, humanity is not about to forget neither about Hollywood´s fondness for hammer and sickle https://www.theblaze.com/contributions/truth-about-trumbo-hollywood-is-set-to-celebrate-another-stalinist-screenwriter nor its sickening admiration for  the most infamous of all villains.

During the Nuremberg Trials, people all over the world were clenching their fists when Hermann Goering was talking back to the U.S.A. While Mayor John Duran and other City Council members keep worrying about American President´s alleged “disturbing treatment of women” to the point of taking a swing at his star, no other than Snoop Dogg https://tvone.tv/73844/snoop-doggs-reaction-to-receiving-a-star-on-the-hollywood-walk-of-fame-is-the-best-thing-youll-see-all-day/  is joining the Walk of Fame! Yep, Calvin Broadus Jr. – who by the way “honors” women with “One for the money, two for the bitches” (“Ain´t no fun”), or “B*tches  ain’t sh*t but h*es and tricks (Dr. Dre’s 1992 “masterpiece” featuring Snoop).It looks like we are talking some double star-dards…

It´s funny that Council members would insist on Trump´s alleged “actions that do not meet the shared values of the City of West Hollywood, the region, state, and country”. California elites are known to defy law, and to underline their “uniqueness”. On website of City of West Hollywood, Mayor Pro Tempore John D´Amico announces haughtily: “West Hollywood invents the culture that other cities consume” as if unaware that more and more people feel force-fed with messages from  hypocritical, money oriented “state of Hollywood “ where fame rhymes with notoriety.

While President Trump won´t be losing sleep over a star on the increasingly inglorious “Walk of Fame”, it is both ludicrous and revolting that Hollywood´s rich brat-pack feels entitled to preach on moral standards, and tries to influence political views of the “commoners” with highly politicized pseudo-ideology.

Paraphrasing Theodore Roosevelt´s “Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feet on the ground”- we need to keep an eye on Hollywood, and stand our ground.
