Emmy Awards Reward Moonbattery

As leftists proceed with the Long March Through the Institutions, everything becomes political. For example, awards are granted primarily on the basis of political viewpoint or political symbolism. Consider the Emmy Awards:

On July 26, the News and Documentary Emmy Award nominations were announced, and PBS topped the list with 45 nominations. CBS led the broadcast networks with 31 nods, followed by CNN and HBO with 22 each, and ABC with 20.

MSNBC got 5. Vice News got nine. Al-Jazeera International USA got five. And The New York Times got seven — for videos! Even the liberal website Vox got three.

The Fox News channel, which leads in cable-news viewership year after year after year, got none.

Nominees include the supposedly Outstanding Historical Documentary “Cuba and the Cameraman,” which whitewashes Fidel Castro’s brutal communist dictatorship; the supposedly Outstanding Social Issue Documentary “Abortion: Stories Women Tell,” which attacks the 72-hour waiting period on baby-killing in Missouri; the supposedly Outstanding Investigative Documentary “War on the EPA,” which denounces skeptics of the anthropogenic global warming hoax; the supposedly Outstanding Edited Interview “Barack Obama: The Reality of Hope,” which edited out any mention of the Moonbat Messiah’s numerous scandals; et cetera, ad nauseam.

An Emmy Award is no more meaningful than the Nobel Peace Prize. Both are given to moonbats by moonbats for the purpose of advancing moonbattery.

If this trend continues, it will make further inroads into sports. Already baseball fans get clobbered with the ever-present number 42, symbol of neurotic white guilt. Future Most Valuable Player awards will ignore performance statistics in favor of race, sexual orientation, and left-wing political proclamations.

Soon there will be no escape anywhere. As Benito Mussolini might have said, “All within moonbattery, nothing outside moonbattery, nothing against moonbattery.”
