A 19-year-old woman, who had received severe injuries when a man set her, her infant daughter and her mother on fire four days ago in Nashik city in Maharashtra, has died, police today said. Her daughter and mother had succumbed to injuries earlier Priti Shendge, who had suffered 80 per cent burns, died at Nashik Civil Hospital last night, police said.

On August 5, Jalaluddin Khan (55), a family acquaintance, allegedly poured kerosene on Priti, her mother Sangita Devre (40) and Priti’s daughter Siddhi (9 months) and set them on fire at their house in Kalika Nagar area here.

Priti Shendge, who had suffered 80 per cent burns, died at Nashik Civil Hospital last night, police said. Nashik: City police on Tuesday detained Jalaluddin Khan, who allegedly set two women and a nine-month-old girl on fire on Sunday night.While the nine-month-old child had died on Monday morning, her 38-year-old grandmother Sangita Deore succumbed to burn injuries on Monday night.Medical officers of Nashik civil hospital informed that the third victim Pritee Shendge (20) was in critical condition as she has suffered 80 percent burn injuries.The accused Jalaluddin Khan, hailed from Mathura. He allegedly set ablaze his live-in partner, her daughter Pritee and grand-daughter Siddhi.According to senior police officials, Deore and Jalaluddin had an argument before going to sleep, as Deore wanted him to live somewhere else since her married daughter had come home for an overnight stay.When the trio was sleeping, Jalaluddin allegedly doused the three victims with kerosene and set them on fire around 4 am on Monday.A few days before the incident took place, Sangita Deore had shifted to Kalika Nagar in Panchavati.

The 55-year-old Muslim male escaped from police on the train when he was being brought back by police from Uttar Pradesh, an official said.

Jalaluddin Khan, the accused, escaped from the Zelam Express between Ganj Basoda and Vidisha railway stations in Madhya Pradesh Wednesday night, police said.

Khan had been arrested on Tuesday by a Nashik police team from his village in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh and was being brought back by train.

Sometime after Ganj Basoda, Khan told Assistant police inspector Deepak Girme and a police constable who were with him that he wanted to use the washroom. Taking advantage of
darkness, he jumped out when the train slowed down, said Madhukar Kad, in-charge of Panchavati police station in Nashik.

The two policemen also jumped out from the moving train but Khan gave them the slip. The policemen suffered minor injuries.

Sugam Deshmukh | HENB | Nashik | August 8, 2018:: A man of extreme Jihadi nature, who had set ablaze a 38-year-old woman, with whom he was having an extramarital affair, and her two kin here in Maharashtra, was arrested from Uttar Pradesh, an official said on Wednesday.

In an horrific incident, a 45­ year­ old Muslim man allegedly set ablaze his live­-in-partner, her daughter and nine­ month­ old grand­-daughter at their residence in the Panchavati-Kalika Nagar locality of the city early on Monday. While the baby, Siddhi and Sangita Devre (38) died of burn injuries; her daughter, Pritee Shendge (20), is battling for life at the Nashik Civil Hospital. All of them sustained over 70% burns. Doctors have said Pritee is in a very critical condition.

Jalaluddin Khan (45), had set afire the woman, Sangita Suresh Devre, her married daughter Preeti and infant granddaughter at her home in here on Monday after an argument, Panchavati police station in-charge Madhukar Kad said.

Following the incident, the man, who is married thrice, fled to Aligarh in UP.

The Nashik police managed to trace him and arrested him from Aligarh on Tuesday evening, Kad said.

Sources said, Jalaluddind was arrested from his third wife’s house, where he took a hide at Aligarh. Jalaluddin’s second wife used to stay in Etwa district and his first wife was died three years back in a street accident. Jalaluddin is a father of five sons and three daughters.

The accused has been booked under Sections 302 (murder) and 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC, he said.

Jalaluddin was having an affair with Sangita for the past one year. They had a heated argument on Sunday, the official said.

He came to her home past midnight on Monday. Devre’s 19-year-old daughter and her granddaughter were also in her home at that time, he said.

Khan poured kerosene on all three, set them afire and fled the scene, the official added. While the child died on the spot, the women died during treatment.
