Rite Aid Shooter Unsurprisingly Had Severe Mental Issues

One thing we know about all mass shooters: each one is messed up in the head. Rite Aid shooter Snochia Moseley — who murdered three people and injured three others before shooting herself at a distribution center in Aberdeen, Maryland on Thursday — is no exception:

Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler revealed on Friday that Moseley had been diagnosed with a mental illness in 2016.

That was the year she came out to her family as “transgender” and announced her intention to deform herself with hormone therapy. Self-loathing intense enough to inspire this sort of attempt at self-obliteration is a sign of suicidality, a nearly universal characteristic of mass shooters.

Although it is hard to be sure from photos and media accounts, Moseley was apparently a female who wanted to “transition” into a make-believe male.

[F]riends paid tribute to her on social media, claiming she had been consumed by mental illness and had reached out for help multiple times before shooting at her colleagues.

Sounds familiar. Parkland shooter Nikolas Cruz also reached out for help that wasn’t there. It is easier to blame guns than to address mental illness.
