NYU Birthday Party for Karl Marx

In all of human history, two people stand out as having inflicted the most death, horror, and misery by planting an evil ideological seed: Mohammad and Karl Marx. The latter, in whose name tyrannical governments have killed 100 million of their own citizens and enslaved many more, is worshiped on college campuses.

What Christmas is to a sane person, Marx’s birthday is to a liberal academic. In honor of his big 200th, they are pulling out all the stops:

New York University is celebrating Karl Marx’s 200th birthday in the form of a two-week long festival. Festivities started on Oct. 17 and run through Oct. 28th (for what it’s worth, Marx’s actual birthday is actually May 5).

These are people who haven’t figured out yet that Marxism doesn’t work. You can’t expect them to get dates right.

Celebratory events include the P Project:

“P Project (2012) is an escalating, interactive performance where actual cash fuels participation based on several P words, such as Piano, Pray, Pussy, Poetry, Poppers, and so on,” the description reads. “The People will be offered several opportunities to Participate in the P Project, for which they be [sic] Paid quite well.”

Yes, they are given money to participate. So much for “from each according to his ability, to each according to his need.”

Another relevant P word is puerile. Otherwise, what the letter P has to do with Marxism is unclear.

Other events include a lecture denouncing “racial capitalism,” a dance party featuring Marxist songs, and “a singing adaptation of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels’s Manifesto for the Communist Party.”

They ought to go abroad and perform the latter in one of the gulags that still exist in Marxist dystopias like North Korea. That might lift the spirits of the incarcerated slaves.
