Why They Are Hyping Demise of Jamal Khashoggi

If you have been watching the news lately, you may be wondering why the demise Jamal Khashoggi warrants such obsessive attention.

Yes, it is a shame that the Saudis are tyrants who kill people, but Muslims have been like that from the beginning. We don’t have a choice between good Muslims and bad Muslims, but between bad Muslims and worse Muslims. The objective is to play off the former against the latter. That’s why Saudi Arabia is a crucial ally against Iran, America’s most devoted enemy over the past 40 years.

For the time being, Mohammad bin Salman’s enemies are our enemies too. We don’t want even worse people taking over Saudi Arabia — like the Muslim Brotherhood, which spawned Al Qaeda and ISIS.

This brings us back to Khashoggi, a Muslim Brotherhood activist.

Khashoggi wrote for the Washington Post, which has been screaming even louder than the rest of the media about his murder. As usual, not everything WaPo screams is true:

The Washington Post is indignant that “hard-line Republicans and conservative commentators are mounting a whispering campaign against Jamal Khashoggi,” supposedly in order to “protect President Trump from criticism of his handling of the dissident journalist’s alleged murder by operatives of Saudi Arabia.”

The Post hits these “hardliners” for highlighting Khashoggi’s ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, and claims that “while Khashoggi was once sympathetic to Islamist movements, he moved toward a more liberal, secular point of view.”

In reality, Khashoggi was the real hardliner, supporting jihad violence and Sharia right up to the time of his murder — even in his recent Post columns.

The Islamophiles running the media plaster liberal feel-good rhetoric over Islamist objectives that are purely evil. This was also the case during the Arab Spring. That saw Barack Obama withholding support from our key ally Hosni Mubarak so that the Muslim Brotherhood could take over Egypt in the person of Mohamed Morsi, who proclaimed:

“The Koran is our constitution, the Prophet is our leader, jihad is our path and death in the name of Allah is our goal…

“Today we can establish Sharia law because our nation will acquire well-being only with Islam and Sharia. The Muslim Brothers and the Freedom and Justice Party [Morsi’s party] will be the conductors of these goals.”

Obama was enraged when Morsi was blessedly overthrown.

Unsurprisingly, Khashoggi was a supporter of the Islamic terror group Hamas (another offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood):

In 2014, Khashoggi wrote happily that Hamas leaders Khaled Meshaal and Ismail Haniyeh “have revived the Palestinian issue.” He complained about “Israel’s occupation” and about “an Israeli war against the Palestinians that has not stopped for a single day since 1948.”

Why would WaPo hire and then champion a guy like this?

[T]he Post hired Jamal Khashoggi because his views coincided with those of the paper’s editorial board. The American Left today holds positions on Israel, Hamas, and political Islam that are essentially indistinguishable from those of the Muslim Brotherhood.

When in doubt about which Muslims are the most immediately hostile to our interests, just refer to liberal voices like WaPo and Obama. They reliably side with our worst enemies.
