FL Lawmakers Tapped to Head RLCC

With the upcoming election cycle already on its way, the Republican Legislative Campaign Committee has announced who will be in their leadership team, which will include four Florida Republicans.

The Florida Republicans that will be a part of the leadership are state Senate President Bill Galvano, state Representative Paul Renner, state Representative Chris Sprowls and state Senator Lizbeth Benacquisto.

In addition, the Ag America Caucus will be involved to help the GOP win and retain agriculture commissioner positions in the 12 states that have them.

Commenting on the initiative, former Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam informed that “Ag America joining the Republican State Leadership Committee represents an increased recognition of the important role agriculture commissioners and other agriculture state level officials occupy in ensuring the growth of American agribusiness. During my tenure as Florida’s Agriculture Commissioner, Ag America helped expose me to the ever-expanding industries that are revolutionizing America’s agriculture economy.”

He also added that “I look forward to continuing my engagement with the organization and am excited for the growing opportunities to expand Ag America efforts to elect free market conservatives to this office throughout the country.”

Furthermore, North Carolina Senate President Pro Tempore Phil Berger was tapped to chair the RLCC, and he commented that “The continued success of the RLCC is imperative on the eve of the redistricting battle that lies ahead after the 2020 election cycle.”

Berger also noted that “The investment of time and resources by the RLCC and the RSLC have taken Republicans to all-time highs in the past decade, while also electing hundreds of first time female and minority candidates to serve in state legislatures. I am committed to defending and adding to that success.”

Although Republicans lost the majority in the House in the 2018 midterm elections, they’re looking to maintain strongholds in battleground states that voted for President Donald Trump in the 2016 Presidential election.
