Trump administration scatters bureaucrats out of Washington D.C., as the Bureau of Land Management moves west to Colorado. But does the shift make it harder for BLM managers to do their jobs? Is it worth it to pay their for their relocation at taxpayer expense in order to drain the swamp?

Trump needs to create the Depart of Nothing and he needs to locate it North of Nome AK. This new Department would be staffed by all those folks that “work” for the Federal government that should be fired but can’t be fired because of the union. Simply transfer them to the Dept of Nothing. They will either move or resign.

4 months in a hotel????? GE I thought was generous with two weeks when my husband relocated to Kansas City. We then had to rent a studio apt while we looked for a house to buy. We pay government workers far far too much. They are the only people that did NOT suffer during the Obama years if one noticed.

Federal employees should also find their own health insurance, etc, to be forced to function in the private economy part of the time as well as to spare the taxpayers.

A hotel ??? Four months ? Put them in one of those FEMA trailers we bought for them in an RV park , and tell them to get to work !

I love these guys. If the far left tried to imitate this format, it would look more like the three stooges, than three thought leaders. Thank you for bringing civility, sanity and critical thinking to us.

Scott, you really mean land (Stolen) by the vicious and murderous BLM not managed by them.

I’ll do you one better. I’ve been an advocate, for over 20 years, of making all congressmen work out of their districts and states (in the case of Senators). They all have offices there and congressional sessions can be done just as well electronically. The positive side-effects will include having the people’s representatives closer to them more often, and those representatives will be away from the elite club and echo chanber that is Washington, D.C. Turn the Capital building into a museum. Also, maybe Virginians will get their state back.

Here’s an idea. Instead of paying travel expenses for these swamp creatures to further swamp Colorado, how about we fire the lot, move THE OFFICE, and hire locals. If indeed we really need a BLM at all, why does it have to be populated by the same people?

We shouldn’t be stealing money from anyone. There was never the justification for any of these agencies. The issue is not where the money taken at gun point by the Feds is spent. The issue is that it was stolen property in the first place.

Having several friends in the off-roading, hunting camping community who work for the BLM they approach this idea with mixed emotions. The last thing they want is a Washington Bureaucrat hanging around who has no idea about what’s going on in their area. On the other hand it would be nice for them to see how their goofy decisions affect the people who live in and use these areas. Maybe, just maybe a very dim light bulb will go on in their brain.

If they can manage land thousands of miles away, then I’m guessing maybe that land doesn’t need to be “managed.”

now if they do that with all the agencies, VA will get 1000% better.

Don’t worry the bureaucrats will start planning on how to move the LAND to D.C.

Why does the federal feral government have so much land to manage? Our government need no more land than where its offices are located.

I think what Trump is doing is setting the stage for re-defining a lot of these bureaucratic positions, and eliminate a lot of waste. I think Montana should manage all of the land in Montana….don’t you?

Wait Government bureaucrats are having there jobs “out sourced” what a shame.
I AGREE COMPLETELY with you guys on this. Decentralize! Good job Trump!
I live where BLM is moving. If you work for BLM things you should know 1) This ain’t Denver, this is the WEST SLOPE 2) Almost Everyone here owns a gun, seems like about every 3rd person has a concealed carry permit. That is normal. stop freaking out because the guy in line ahead of you has a gun on his hip (The little old lady behind you has one in her handbag 😏) 3) We are conservationists NOT Environmentalists 4) Most of the BLM land that will be within 30 minutes of your office is Cold & muddy in the winter and Hot and dry in the summer (don’t pick stuff up off the ground in the sun in the summer, there is a scorpion under it you fool!) 5)All those farmers and Ranchers you hung up the phone on when you were in DC haven’t forgotten. And now they will be in your office. 6) you will either learn to love it here, or regret ever having moved (we don’t care either way) but if you love it here LIE it helps keep the city folks away.

The Departmentof Agriculture should be situated in Minneapolis, or Kansas City.
Better suggestion: GET RID of the department entirely. Put the lands in the STATES hands where it should have been 100 years ago!!!!!!!!

I actually live where they’re thinking of moving the BLM. And we do actually have a Golden Corral. Maybe if they get out here and start doing recreational activities on BLM land, they’ll stop trying to close BLM land off to recreational activities.

It is time to get the Federal employee union under control.
Move the jobs so they don’t have to travel so far to check on their responsibilities should make it cheaper to operate while it should also reduce the overal long term cost by shedding feather bedding bureaucrats who don’t want to move.

OMG I have been saying this for years! Move the Agencies out into the states. Especially the interior ones where good jobs have been disappearing. NOT the coastal areas. Keep the Cabinet Secretaries in DC with the President but move the staff out. Fantastic idea.

Every day that goes by since the election of President Trump, I find new reasons to thank God that we, the people spoke so very loudly by sending him, a proven leader to the White House where he could shake things up and come up with a better, leaner, working Government. My God Bless Donald Trump, and may God Bless the three of you for bringing us this wonderful news every day.

Yeah Trump! Many of the current ees will not move! Washington poop hates the country, and never tell the truth! The pres knows what hes doing, and it will save money, he has already figured it out!
Let the swamp creatures climb those beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountain peaks.

The BLM has been overstepping their bounds for years! On several occasions it ended in tragedy! This move is LONG overdue! I just pray that a good many of those government employees stay where they are and at least half of those positions in CO are NEVER filled!!

This needs to happen with Congress. Do you suppose neighborhoods, represented by Democrats, would maybe get fixed, if the representatives were required to live in their districts.
And the hits just keep on coming! Awesome!

Glad I found this site. You guys have a great handle on what is happening in this country. Refreshing !
I adore the idea of decentralizing the federal gvmt, and putting them within the communities their terrible mismanagement is directly affecting. However, to Steve’s point, we already have enough out-of-state transplants in Colorado, wholly and completely destroying this once well managed, prosperous state. Tossing a bunch of DC bureaucrats into the mix will no doubt accelerate the destruction and collapse, as the city dwelling morons vote for other city dwelling morons and waste more money the state and city gvmts don’t have to buy votes from wholly and completely unproductive people they lure here with promises of free stuff. Then add to that mix of calamity, all the illegal aliens that follow the benefits and vote buying, and you get a recipe for a disaster that california, another formerly well managed state, now finds itself in. So, I have a mixed reaction to this. It is definitely the right way to push gvmt, decentralizing and getting out of that cess pit in DC, but it’s a shame that those same people will go out of their way then, to just accelerate how quickly they destroy the rest of the country for it. It seems to always come down to a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” situation when it comes to the federal gvmt. I found Hamilton, Madison and Jay’s federalist arguments supremely convincing, so I will remain ever the Federalist myself, but the more I see what the federal gvmt has become, far and away outside the scope of what Hamilton, Madison and Jay wanted and expected, the more I wonder if the whole federalism idea was a mistake. I don’t think there is any hope or chance in saving the federal gvmt from the weight of stupidity and corruption it has become, outside of a full constitutional reset. As such, bring on the enactment of the second clause in 5th Article of the Constitution, call up a State’s Convention, and let’s try to convince the states to throw out all the extra constitutional departments that are bloating the federal gvmt and making it untenable, corrupt, disgusting and evil, and let’s get back to being a Federal Constitutional Republic, instead of this Banana Republic we find ourselves in now.

Just thinking about all the advantages of doing this, I can see why the The mock rats will have to be opposed to it, just as they are to decentralized government already.

Colorado is on the slate for much more of DC’s bureaucracy in the next few years. This has been in the works for a long time (think DIA). It really doesn’t make good sense to have so much of our government on the Eastern Seaboard. I’ll be leaving Colorado with a fat wallet and a 😃! What the Liberals haven’t been able to screw up, the government hacks will finish off. After 58 years, it’s time to go.

If the BLM jobs were being transferred to Hawaii, or Florida, they’d kill each other for the slots. The older workers would work a year in the new neighborhood, then retire.

Colorado? No need to send them to such an expensive area. Send them to the center of our country, the lovely Oklahoma City!

All of the Democrats from the Kansas City region of Kansas and Missouri worked for moving the USDA to Kansas City. Then the nutcase wing decided Skype etc. don’t exist and all the Scientists needed face to face meetings and flipped out started trying to unionize them and also promote discontent. Supposedly 2/3 are convinced not to move. Well good ! Kansas City has a proven record of attracting brilliant Scientists into the city and they’re not Socialists.
