To translate what Kenn Star is saying is that self-righteousness is a legitimate reason to ignore national security and state secret rules. Realize, not just Comey, but many people in high office broke ‘the rules’ (aka the law) but this technical policy sort of law mostly, and especially during the Obama administration. So if you work in a position where classified information is part of your job and you fell self-righeous apparently Kenn Star says whatever you feel is the ‘right thing to do’ is what you should do.
