South Korea Strikes Free Trade Agreement with Israel

More humiliation for the boycott-the-Jews movement (BDS). What must Tlaib and Omar be thinking when the BDS Movement suffers such a defeat, and other such defeats which are happening daily. The economic ties between Israel and South Korea will now reach even greater heights in the future. This is Israel’s first FTA with an Asian country, and will surely not be the last. Israel will sign such agreements with China, Japan, India and Vietnam in the future.

China in particular desires Israeli technology badly, and will pay handsomely for it. The Trump administration has been trying to limit China’s growing economic ties with Israel. President Trump understands the immense value of the U.S-Israel relationship, and is not about to allow China to jeopardize it. However, look for the Chinese (who are no fools) to try and seize upon the Democrat Party going full on Nazi against the Jewish state.

South Korea struck a free trade deal with Israel as part of efforts to strengthen economic ties with the Middle East country and cope with the growing protectionism around the globe, Seoul’s trade ministry said Wednesday.In Jerusalem, South Korean Trade Minister Yoo Myung-hee and her counterpart Eli Cohen declared their bilateral free trade agreement (FTA) around three years after the two held the first round of negotiations in 2016.

The deal is expected to take effect in the first half of 2020, as it still needs to go through a legal review, a signing ceremony and the respective parliament’s ratification, according to the ministry.

Seoul’s exports to Israel were estimated at US$1.44 billion in 2018, up 14 percent from a year earlier, according to the ministry.

Prime Benjamin Netanyahu and Economy and Industry Minister Eli Cohen met today, at the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem, with Republic of Korea Trade Minister Yoo Myung-hee.

SAMSUNG LEASES SIX FLOORS IN TEL AVIV

Korean tech giant Samsung’s management in Israel has signed a long-term lease with Israeli income-producing property company Azrieli Group Ltd. (TASE: AZRG), which is building the Azrieli Town project in Tel Aviv. Samsung leased six floors with 9,000 square meters at NIS 120-140 per square meter.

The Azrieli Town project, located between Menachem Begin Boulevard and the Ayalon Highway, is part of Tel Aviv’s northern business center – a string of high-rises stretching from Azrieli Towers in the south to Arlosorov Towers in the north. The project will include a 35-floor, 50,000-square meter office building next to a 50-floor, 21,000-square meter residential tower with 212 apartments. The project will also have 2,000 square meters of commercial space and an underground parking lot with 1,300 parking spaces. The land for the project, located next to the Midtown project in Tel Aviv, was purchased in 2012 from Clalit Health Services, which operated there for many years.
