Stealing Ships in Moonbattery-Addled Seattle

The Left Coast is degenerating into anarchy because criminal lunatics are no longer incarcerated. Derelicts are allowed to take over businesses and whole neighborhoods in California. Vicious assaults that could have resulted in death result in immediate release from police custody in Portland. As the situation spirals out of control, homeless petty criminals have escalated to stealing ships in moonbattery-addled Seattle.

Via KIRO Radio:

Doug Dixon, general manager of Pacific Fishermen Shipyard and PFI Marine Electric just off Shilshole Avenue, said the crime was carefully-planned.

He said that a woman who appears to be homeless and spends time around the shipyard took a hardhat from a construction site next door and used it to gain access to the shipyard.…

With the hardhat disguise, she climbed aboard Pacific Fishermen’s $12 million North Sea — a 123-foot, 400-ton fishing vessel that Dixon described as “a big sister” to the Northwestern on the Discovery Channel’s “Deadliest Catch.”

She managed to start up the ship’s 16-cylinder engine. Maybe she planned to go out on a whimsical fishing expedition, like in the movie One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

There were crew on board, so the fun didn’t last long. However, she can always come back and try again.

Police arrested the attempted boat thief on two felonies, but she was released 24 hours later. Another arrest followed shortly after, but she was once again released.

Next time damages might be more significant:

“She’s got the wherewithal to steal a crab boat — she could have sneaked in at night and done it, because we’re not that secure here,” [Dixon] said. “I’m concerned she’d use it to ram the Ballard Locks and drain Lake Washington.”

Mass shootings are one price we pay for letting lunatics run around loose. Another is the need for tight security everywhere.

On a tip from DCGere.
