Chicago violence has been out of control for some time. Authoritarians blame guns in private hands, but this is obviously nonsense, since Chicago has some of the most oppressive gun laws in the nation. Houston has a similar total population, respects the Second Amendment, and has far less violence. So what is causing all the bloodshed?
