Apparent Terror Ties for Sabotaging Airline Mechanic

We have some follow-up on the sabotaging airline mechanic who was probably allowed to continue plying his trade despite his alarming work history on the grounds that it would be Islamophobic not to let a guy named Abdul-Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani service airplanes. Big surprise: looks like he has terrorist ties.

Via the Miami Herald:

An American Airlines mechanic accused of sabotaging a navigation system on a flight with 150 people aboard at Miami International Airport was denied bond by a federal judge on Wednesday after prosecutors suggested he may have links to a Middle East terrorist organization.

Among the reasons Magistrate Judge Chris McAliley regards Alani as a potential terrorist,

FBI … agents found a “disturbing” ISIS video in which a person was being shot in the head, and that he sent the video to someone with an Arabic message asking “Allah” to take revenge against non-Muslims.

Alani also lied about a trip to Iraq, told a coworker that his brother was a member of ISIS, and has been sending money to Iraq. It’s okay to notice stuff like this once he has already been caught sabotaging an airplane; otherwise, it would be Islamophobic.

One of these days, political correctness is going to get a whole lot of people killed.
