RIP Mark Allen

Fallout continues related to one of the most appalling scandals of the Obama Administration. Retired Army Master Sergeant Mark Allen has died at age 46, a decade after he was shot while searching for Bowe Bergdahl, who had deserted and probably defected to the Taliban.

Allen had been unable to walk or speak since a sniper shot him in the head in July 2009 while he searched for Bergdahl, who later returned to the USA when Obama illegally traded five top terrorists for him.

At Bergdahl’s trial, Allen’s wife Shannon testified that it would take up to 90 minutes each morning to get her husband out of bed, showered, and dressed. She had to use a pulley system attached to the ceiling to move him.

Apparently the court was left unmoved.

Bergdahl was reduced in rank for sergeant to private, ordered to forfeit $1,000 in pay for 10 months, and given a dishonorable discharge, but he did not serve any prison time.

This for a crime that warranted a firing squad. Amazingly, Bergdahl has had the nerve to contest his dishonorable discharge.

Mark Allen’s mission was a waste of time, but that doesn’t make him less of a hero. It just makes his fate more tragic.
