WATCH Pamela Geller, Eagle Council: “The Most Important Civil Liberty of All Is The Right Not to Be Blow Up”

So many of you have emailed me asking for the video of my talk at the Eagle Council.

Highlights:

18 years after 9/11 – let’s take a moment to reflect. Twitter, Facebook social media, came the oft repeated #neverforget. Absurd in its true meaning. What is it that people are not supposed to forget? You can’t talk motive. You can’t question jihadic doctrine. In the wake of the ensuing global intellectual terrorism, more apt hashtag would be #RememberToForget

This year also marked the 30th anniversary of Ayatollah Khomeini’s infamous fatwa against the novelist Salman Rushdie, in which he called on Muslims to murder Rushdie and the publishers of his book The Satanic Verses.

Conservative Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher gave Rushdie, a diehard liberal and a vocal opponent of Thatcher, round the clock protection. Before the fatwa he had mocked her, called her Margaret Torture. But she said this was beyond party affiliation – it was a defense of Western civilization. Who would have imagined that 30 years later, the mullahs have won?

Jihadis said to Rushdie ‘Free speech is a non-starter,’To which he replied, “No, sir, it is not. Free speech is the whole thing, the whole ball game. Free speech is life itself.”

Since then, the attack on free speech has been relentless. Think of it. In 20 years not one movie has been made about the jihad attacks on 9/11. The largest attack on American soil targeting innocent civilians – not one. WWII films, American revolution – 911 last letters, martyrdom letters –

Brave Hollywood. Giving themselves endless awards – for their bravery, the chances they took etc always giving themselves awards and yet they don’t dare to mention they gravest threat to the free world today.

The Rushdie incident and 9/11 was a beginning not an end.

30 years ago the early years of the 21st century would be consumed with blasphemy. Who would have imagin back in the nineties that there would be a cartoon crisis. What would we have thought – what did Mickey do? Salmon Rushide said it was like falling thru the looking glass. We all fell through the looking glass,

We learned the media are cowards, art the art world were cowards, entertainment cowards. A couple of years ago the Passion for Freedom exhibition – oh the irony was forced to pull a piece of artwork by the artist Mimsy after police raised security concerns. They said they could not protect the gallery. That it would require at least 50K which, of course the gallery could not afford Whats was so “inflammatory”? A children’s toys family rabbits, mice and hedgehogs going about their daily life on green little hill playing, sunning themselves on a beach, simply watching television while the menacing figures of armed jihadis toys figures lurked in the background. This was pulled from the exhibition.

An unknown liberal columnist from Seattle, Washington, Molly Morris, who was a fan of South Park, unknowingly took a stand.  She created a piece of artwork in reaction to Muslim death threats that had been made against animators South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. A fatwa was put on her head and Molly Norris had to go into hiding. She had to change her name, leave her home, leave her job. “No More Molly.” She was summarily ‘murdered’.

In the wake of Rushdie we did not see was how the concept of blasphemy would be manipulated by devout Muslims into the concept of offence against believers, and thus into claims of racism and the invention of the word ‘Islamophobia’. a thought crushing device designed to silence any criticism of Islam, jihad, and sharia. Since then, the attack on free speech has been unrelenting.

Rushdie became a template for global intellectual terrorism. In 2005, an eruption over cartoons of Muhammad in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten left hundreds dead. . . . In 2011 and again in 2015, the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo was attacked by terrorists in response to Muhammad cartoons. . . .in Garland, Texas, our free speech.

In a now infamous incident in 2017, students at Middlebury College shouted down a talk by the conservative scholar Charles Murray, and then a group of protesters (which included both outsiders and students) physically attacked him and a faculty member, giving her a concussion.

Last month, under pressure from terror-tied CAIR, Eventbrite incident canceled a NYYRC event I was scheduled to speak at and vowed to ban all Pamela Geller events on their platform. Ironic as I intended to speak about the war on free speech, and the alliance that leftists have with terror tied Islamic groups such as the UAE designated terrorist group Hamas-tied Council on American-Islamic Relations in doing so. Mind you, Eventbrite continues to host events by monsters– like jihad supporter and anti-Semite Linda Sarsour, Hamas groups like CAIR etc, Ilhan Omar and CAIR

The ideas of the left cannot stand up to challenge and scrutiny – so we must be silenced.

I have been banned from speaking almost everywhere me from speaking almost everywhere –

No dissent, no matter how small, cannot be tolerated

If we don’t stand up to this bullying and censorship, the freedom of speech will soon be a dead letter in this country, with only totalitarians allowed to be heard. For my part, I’m doing all I can to prevent that from happening. Cowardice and capitulation are pandemic today.

If Trump is reelected in 2020 and can accomplish more of his agenda, the entire political culture could be transformed by 2024. Otherwise, if Democrats win in 2024, they’ll continue their efforts to make the US into an authoritarian socialist state.

The left speaks of “Free speech policy” — there is only one free speech policy – the first amendment.

Freedom of speech is the foundation of a free society. Without it, a tyrant can wreak havoc unopposed, while his opponents are silenced. If speech that offends a group is outlawed, that group has absolute power, and a free society is destroyed. A group that cannot be criticized cannot be opposed. It can work its will no matter what it is, and no one will be able to say anything to stop it.

Putting up with being offended is essential in a pluralistic society in which people differ on basic truths. If a group will not bear being offended without resorting to violence, that group will rule unopposed while everyone else lives in fear, while other groups curtail their activities to appease the violent group. This results in the violent group being able to tyrannize the others.

Inoffensive speech needs no protection. The First Amendment was developed precisely in order to protect speech that was offensive to some, in order to prevent those who had power from claiming they were offended by speech opposing them and silencing the powerless.

Any criticism of jihad terror that examines its ideological roots in Islam is called Islamophobia, The word is used to intimidate people into thinking there is something wrong with opposing jihad terror. This deforms our response to terrorism by placing off-limits any examination of its guiding ideology, and effectively enforces Sharia blasphemy laws in the US by placing Islam, Quran, Muhammad beyond criticism.

The last free speech frontier – the internet is battlefield in the information battle-space.

Social media platforms is the greatest threat to the freedom of speech today.

Platforms that should be neutral and open to all are anything but, and any dissenter from the far-Left agenda will find it increasingly difficult to take any public stance.

My colleagues and I have scrubbed by Google search, banned by Google adsense, shadowbanned by Twitter, incarcerated in Facebook jail.

I can speak to this new and terrible reality.

I am a human rights activist dedicated to freedom of speech, freedom of conscience and equality for all before the law.

I have been the target of multiple assassination plots. Failed I might add.

I have filed well over a dozen free speech lawsuits in as many cities where first amendment rights were denied. And won. So democrat cities banned political ads because I said, “In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilizedman. Support Israel. Defeat Jihad” . My ads not acts of provocation, they were a response.

In 2016 I filed suit against the DoJ challenging Section 230 of the FEC code which provides immunity from lawsuits to Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, thereby permitting these social media giants to engage in government-sanctioned censorship and discriminatory business practices free from legal challenge.”

•  The Left has been trying to shut down all dissent for years.
• Now it has moved to openly calling for violence.
• Glib politicization of mass murder.
• Outrage that leverages the deaths of innocents to destroy the reputations and careers of others.
•  Recently an imam in Georgia said that jihad attacks in the US were not necessary because Islam is winning. This is true: all discussion of the jihad threat and Sharia has been demonized and stigmatized.
•  We must stand with courage against such assaults or we will lose our free society.
• The replacement of “The Rights of Man” by “The Rights of Mob.”

SO WHAT IS NEEDED? YOU, THE NEW INTELLECTUAL, THOUGHT LEADERS:

America’s Founders were new intellectuals. They radically transformed traditional ideas about the individual, society, and the role of government.

Millennials – this generation – has not been taught the very America idea. It is why they are a lost generation who produces and exalts numbskulls like Alexandria Cortez Ocasio.

History is calling you NOW, not tomorrow, not next week or next month.

Ayn Rand said reason and morality are the only weapons that determine the course of history. The Democrats, the statists, have dropped them because they no right to carry them. You have. Pick them up and get to work.
