The practice of collecting viruses from bats first burst into public view in the early weeks of the outbreak when Shi Zhengli, a noted scientist with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, refuted a swirl of online accusations both at home and abroad that the coronavirus may have leaked from her institute, where a lab certified as BSL-4, the highest level for handling dangerous pathogens, opened three years ago.

Director-Generalof the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesu has called such speculation part of an “infodemic” of fake news surrounding the coronavirus, while other public health officials said they belong with the slew of conspiracy theories claiming that the virus was engineered (all scientists who have studied the genome of the virus agree that would be impossible).
But some scientists, both within China and elsewhere, say an accidental leak remains a possibility – insofar as there is no evidence to disprove it.

Yet some health officials believe that the …..virus arrived in Italy…… long before …….the first case was discovered. “The virus had probably been circulating for quite some time,” Flavia Riccardo, a researcher in the Department of Infectious Diseases at the Italian National Institute of Health tells TIME. “This happened right when we were having our peak of influenza and people were presenting with influenza symptoms.”

Before the first case was reported, there was an unusually high number of pneumonia cases recorded at a hospital in Codogno in northern Italy, the head of the emergency ward Stefano Paglia told the newspaper La Repubblica, suggesting it is possible patients with the virus were treated as if they had a seasonal flu. Health facilities hosting these patients could have become sites for infection, helping proliferate the spread of the virus.

Why does Italy have such a high number of cases and deaths?
Because the virus spread undetected, some officials believe this is the reason for such a high number of cases in the country. “This started unnoticed which means by the time we realized it, there were a lot of transmission chains happening,” Riccardo says, noting that this may be why Italy has seen such a high number of cases.

…….and as such one cannot dismiss the fact that maybe it did not start at all in china!!!…….

Or that an exotic “infected animal” was transported to the meat market, crossing though various countries before arriving there!……or just an infected person!….or a test run in bio transmission!

……….In which prior to their outbreak there were a higher than normal number of pneumonia deaths! In the month to six weeks prior….as such given that the incubation period is two weeks to 27 days before onset of symptoms, in that now the time scale puts Italy in the December period!!!!….hence the relationship of the scale to that of china …..

So some observations …..

Interesting to note that the so called elite go to hospital leave after a few days, boris apparently having a bad time goes to ICU, no ventilator only given oxygen ….yet all these deaths!?
