For decades politics and media have been living by the same rule: If we want your opinion, we will give you your perception. It´s not different this time-it´s just that they are bringing propaganda´s heaviest artillery on the novel and shaky grounds of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The mainstream media seem convinced that the grieving, impoverished and suddenly endangered human species are so busy trying to find their footing out of lock-down that the overwhelming shabbiness and nonchalance of agitprop will be overlooked.

The ad-nauseam mantra :”Covid-19 is natural in origin” is so overemphasized that one must wonder where the insistence was imported from, and the ”appeal to authority” strategy will backfire as long as scientists remain divided on coronavirus´ genesis. How is one expert more credible than another expert? Well, it depends if his findings fit in the mass media scenario. Should we ask question: “Who asserts that coronavirus is of natural origin?” or accept that the media skip the question mark and want us to read: WHO asserts that coronavirus is of natural origin. Media uses fallacy of a simple cause disguised as “case closed” headlines such as :”Scientists have strong evidence coronavirus originated naturally” https://abcnews.go.com/Health/scientists-strong-evidence-coronavirus-originated-naturally/story?id=70207409 ,then merely quotes two scientists – Dr. Robert Shafer, professor of Infectious Diseases at Stanford Medical School, and  Dr. Robert Garry, a professor at the Tulane School of Medicine . To conclude we are treated to: «Nothing suggests the virus was made”.

Professor Luc Montagnier, co-winner of the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 2008(discovery of HIV by Montagnier and Barre-Sinoussi) is rarely quoted, and if, then labelled as “controversial”. Whenever President Trump announces efforts to carefully examine all existing evidence and theories, he finds himself under fire both from nervous China and anti-investigative journalists. Rabid “ad hominem” raids where propagandists attack every arguer instead of the argument not only fail to alter the target´s vision but raise legitimate questions. The outbreak of pandemic is too serious matter to become “cold case” and the truth of the matter is that we need to verify relevant data without relying on “China says”. The mainstream media botched own propaganda and infested the news with several inconsistencies and contradictions. They led us up the wet market path, through bat-blaming to bat-sierra crazy pangolin collusion.
