Winston Churchill Entombed

Winston Churchill hasn’t been under siege like this since the Battle of Britain. That time, British civilization fought off the onslaught. Now, the prospects look even bleaker than they did during the darkest nights of the Blitz.

As mentioned earlier, Black Lives Matter and its liberal allies have targeted Winston Churchill for cancelation, because he was the greatest leader of the 20th century and therefore embodies the Western Civilization that they seek to destroy.

The monument to Britain’s wartime leader, which stands opposite the Palace of Westminster in Parliament Square, has previously been defaced with graffiti branding him “racist” and denouncing all police as “bastards” at several of the illegal mass protests which have taken place in Britain in recent weeks. With more protests liable to come, the memorial — and several others in central London — has now been boarded over.

Other monuments were also defensively entombed:

Hoarding has also been erected around statues of U.S. founding father George Washington and former monarch James II, among others, as well as the base of the Cenotaph war memorial, where wreaths are placed to honour the fallen, and which was the subject of an attempted arson last week.

Not all monuments get even this much of a defense from the conquering Black Lives Matter hordes.

The destruction of a statue of Edward Colston, a merchant and philanthropist born in the 1600s now predominantly known for his links to the slave trade, began the trend, with the Stop Trump Coalition drawing up a national hit-list of supposedly offensive monuments — and the authorities are already moving swiftly to remove some voluntarily, and establishing diversity commissions to erase more.

A great civilization can survive almost anything, except cowardice and lack of belief in itself. Once it has been turned against itself, it will fall into ruin.

Speaking of cowardice, Boris Johnson balanced an acknowledgment of Winston Churchill’s greatness with the oblation to the liberal religion that Churchill “sometimes expressed opinions that were and are unacceptable to us today.”

We are past the point where we could respectfully disagree with leftists. Either we defeat them, or they defeat us. The latter is not an option; the consequences would be unthinkable.

Supposedly conservative political leaders have been useless during the current war of extermination against everything they were elected to represent. They don’t make them like Winston Churchill anymore.
