Sweden Shuns Lockdowns, Recovers Quickly

Thank you, Sweden, for confirming that the economically devastating lockdowns that made a mockery of the US Constitution and threw tens of millions out of work were unnecessary. Even Bloomberg admits:

As other countries face renewed outbreaks, Sweden’s latest Covid-19 figures suggest it’s rapidly bringing the virus under control. …

The Health Agency of Sweden says that since hitting a peak in late June, the infection rate has fallen sharply. That’s amid an increase in testing over the period. …

The development follows months of controversy over Sweden’s decision to avoid a full lockdown.

As for the masks many Americans are compelled to wear,

“With numbers diminishing very quickly in Sweden, we see no point in wearing a face mask in Sweden, not even on public transport,” [epidemiologist Anders Tegnell, the Dr Fauci of Sweden] said.

If they had been able to keep the Somali immigrants who staff them from infecting nursing homes, Sweden would have fared even better.

Let’s hope a few people remember this when authoritarians seize on the next virus as a pretext for lockdowns.
