5781: An Extraordinary Jewish New Year 🇺🇸 🇮🇱

שָׁנָה טוֹבָה

Tonight begins the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah 2020 – in the year 5781. This year it falls on the 18th – a powerful number in the Jewish religion. 18 signifies life and represents being alive. What a sign. I am not superstitious but this augury, at this moment, affected me. It is a gift to be living at such time, one governed by one of the greats, a man for the ages — a time of Lincoln or Washington.

G’mar Chatima Tova. May you and yours be inscribed and sealed for a sweet New Year.

We are blessed to live in the age of Trump. The Jewish people will not see the likes of him again.

Nor can many claim to live at a time when good and evil were so present, stark and glaring or as the Bible warned, a time when evil is called good (Democrat rioting, burning, looting etc labeled ‘peaceful) and good evil (the hatred of Trump).

My fears for my people stem not from our enemies without but within. The Kapos, the Jews who work to destroy fellow Jews and our beloved Jewish state. But this is not new. We have been plagued by the nefarious deeds of these fake Jews for millennia. When Moses went up to Mount for the giving of the Torah (laws) to Israel on Mount Sinai- the most momentous event in the Jewish people’s history – the leftist Jews were agitating against Moses, building a golden calf (false idol).

Josephus explains that Moses went up Mount Sinai for the first time to bring back “a happy method of living for the people, and an order of political government, a short history of the Patriarchs and Egyptian slavery, and a Decalogue.”
But, he continues, “on the following day the multitude came to his tent and desired to bring them, besides, other laws from God.”
So Moses went up for the second time, and after 40 days, “he showed them the two tablets, with the ten commandments engraved upon them, five upon each tablet, and the writing was by the hand of God.”

Philo Alexandroni wrote that Moses went up for the first time to bring to the Jewish people the “jurisdiction concerning things which are most necessary for human welfare, namely food,” and he ascended the mountain for the second time “for all other urgent needs of his people.” He mentions that those who made the Golden Calf during his absence in imitation of Egyptian worship were subsequently heavily punished.

But Jews who hurt the Jewish people have not met with heavy punishment. Not yet anyway.

But it’s a new year, let’s not dwell on trolls.

We are living in an extraordinary period in Jewish history.  We have, without questions, the greatest friend the Jewish people have ever had, in The White House. President Trump is a phenom, divine, even.

The Trump Middle-East peace deals with Muslim nations were …… thought impossible. News stories like this continue to stun me:

Bahrain political analyst on rocket attacks on Israel: “We all condemn this and we hope Israel retaliates firmly and in a strong way towards these terrorists.”

Arab League rejects Palestinian demand to condemn Israel-UAE deal

We are blessed to live in the age of Trump. The Jewish people will not see the likes of him again

Rosh Hashanah
The Jewish New Year

Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year. It is the anniversary of the creation of Adam and Eve, and a day of judgment and coronation of G‑d as king.

Rosh Hashanah is the birthday of the universe, the day G‑d created Adam and Eve, and it’s celebrated as the head of the Jewish year. It begins at sundown on the eve of Tishrei 1 (Sept. 18, 2020) and ends after nightfall on Tishrei 2 (Sept. 20, 2020).

The central observance of Rosh Hashanah is blowing the shofar (ram’s horn) on both mornings of the holiday (except on Shabbat), which is normally done in synagogue as part of the day’s services but may be done elsewhere for those who cannot attend.

Rosh Hashanah feasts traditionally include round challah bread (studded with raisins) and apples dipped in honey, as well as other foods that symbolize our wishes for a sweet year.

Other Rosh Hashanah observances include candle lighting in the evenings and desisting from creative work.

Together with Yom Kippur (which follows 10 days later), it is part of the Yamim Nora’im (Days of Awe, or High Holidays). Read more about Rosh Hashanah
