Ruth Bader Ginsburg: Advocate for Partial Birth Abortion Dies Days Before the Start of 40 Days for Life...

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

surrounded by family and kept comfortable, unlike the millions upon millions of babies who were ripped from their mother’s womb.

If you think this is “Bader bashing”, you’d be wrong. It’s a simple statement of fact.

I pray for salvation for all God’s creatures and I sincerely hope she repented of her stance on abortion before passing.

Justice Ginsburg wrote the 2000 dissenting opinion on the upholding of the ban on partial birth abortions in Nebraska.

She stated:

“A state regulation that has the purpose or effect of placing a substantial obstacle in the path of a woman seeking an abortion of a nonviable fetus, violates the Constitution,” Ginsburg wrote. “Such an obstacle exists if the State stops a woman from choosing the procedure her doctor reasonably believes will best protect the woman in [the] exercise of [her] constitutional liberty.”

Partial birth abortion is not performed on a “nonviable” fetus. In partial-birth abortions, a living human baby is partially birthed and then violently attacked by medical personnel who often severs the child’s spine with a scissor or scalpel. There is never a medical reason for this barbaric procedure.

She is being hailed as a constitutional icon when is fact she believed in a “living constitution” which is constantly reinterpreted and evolves according to the whims of the current age.

Justice Clarence Thomas had this to say about the concept of a “Living” Constitution:

Let me put it this way; there are really only two ways to interpret the Constitution – try to discern as best we can what the framers intended or make it up. No matter how ingenious, imaginative or artfully put, unless interpretive methodologies are tied to the original intent of the framers, they have no more basis in the Constitution than the latest football scores. To be sure, even the most conscientious effort to adhere to the original intent of the framers of our Constitution is flawed, as all methodologies and human institutions are; but at least originalism has the advantage of being legitimate and, I might add, impartial.

40 Days for Life

On September 23, this years 40 Days for Life campaign begins, lasting until November 1st – 40 days.

The number 40 is significant in the life of Jesus and appears many times in the Bible:

  • Forty days and nights of rain during the flood
  • Moses lived forty years in Egypt
  • Moses spent forty days on Mount Sinai
  • The Jews journeyed through the desert for forty years to the Promised Land
  • Jonah preached forty days to Nineveh
  • The prophet Ezekiel laid on his right side for forty days to symbolize the sins of Judah
  • Elijah fasted for forty days on Mount Horeb
  • Goliath taunted Israel for forty days
  • Jesus fasted in the desert forty days

In 588 cities across the world, teams of people will peacefully pray and keep constant vigil outside an abortion facility. It’s a huge undertaking. Everyone is encouraged to pray and fast in support of the campaign.

40 Days for Life statement on the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg:

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died last night at the age of 87.

We join Christians across the country in praying that the Lord of Life welcome Justice Ginsburg to eternal life. And we pray for the comfort and consolation of her family, friends, and all those who grieve her loss.

As this sudden vacancy on the Supreme Court comes at a time when our nation is already bitterly divided, please join us also in praying for peace in our country, in our communities, and in the womb.

I can’t help thinking that the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg just days before the start of 40 Days for Life is somehow prophetic in its nature.

From the 40 Days for Life website:

The visible, public centerpiece of 40 Days for Life is a focused, 40-day, non-stop, round-the-clock prayer vigil outside a single Planned Parenthood center or other abortion facility in your community.

It is a peaceful and educational presence. Those who are called to stand witness during this 24-hour-a-day presence send a powerful message to the community about the tragic reality of abortion. It also serves as a call to repentance for those who work at the abortion center and those who patronize the facility.

If you do not have an abortion facility or Planned Parenthood office in your town, you can still conduct 40 Days for Life; however, you will need to select a different location which has some strategic significance – perhaps near a city hall, a courthouse, or a highly visible intersection.
