A Baker’s Dozen Of The Latest Developments From Israel

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

While the spittle-flecked fury of Mahmoud Abbas, raging in Ramallah, has not abated, and the PA has denounced the Arab League for failing to denounce the U.A.E., then announced it was quitting the Arab League, and then decided that – since no one seemed to care whether it was in or out — it would not quit the Arab League after all, the Israelis were busy in many other areas. While the PA staggered from one comical debacle to another, Israel moved from strength to strength.

I selected a Baker’s Dozen of the latest announcements of Israeli advances in medical technology, cybersecurity, clothing, energy transmission, speech-enabled technology, autonomous vehicles, pain measurement, airship manufacturing, devices attached to glasses that see a text and instantly “read” it to the visually-impaired, and more. I thought you’d like to know what Israel’s been up to, while the PA and Hamas, as far as I have been able to discover, have done nothing but pretend to make peace with each other so that together they can howl at the heathen — not just the usual Infidels, but also those fellow Arabs who have “betrayed” them.

Major trilateral agreement could link Israel to EU power grid by 2024

Submarine cable to run from Israel to mainland Greece through Cyprus – a distance covering more than 1,000 miles.

Israel will sign an agreement with Greece and Cyprus by the end of the year to lay a submarine cable that would connect it to the European power grid, Israel Hayom has learned.

The project, which is expected to take about four years to complete, was finalized following a conversation between Israeli Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz with his Cypriot counterpart Natasa Pilides.

The funding, estimated at some NIS 3.1 billion (some $917 million) will be funded by all three countries, as well as the EU. The cable will run from Israel to mainland Greece through Cyprus – a distance covering more than 1,000 miles – at a depth of almost 2 miles.

Once completed, it will initially be able to supply 1,000 megawatts, but the output is expected to double eventually. This means that it could potentially provide Israel with 20% to 40% of Israel’s domestic power consumption every month.
